Does not need to be this close to homes! From the comments I've read about toll 49, someone needs to wake up and learn how to properly construct a road way!

Costs have increased and no corrections have been made to Toll road 49 from Paluxy to 110. We do not need any more poor access and egress from this toll road until current problems are addressed!

This tollway is a complete disaster and should have been four lanes from day one with a concrete barrier in the middle. I don’t understand how one builds something like this without looking at what is already working in other states. I’m often stuck behind vehicles going well below the posted minimum speed with no way to get around them to pass. THIS IS NOT A TOLLWAY! It’s a joke of a system and Texas should be embarrassed. I grew up in Wisconsin and Illinois has tollways everywhere. If you want to learn how a real tollway operates, do a little research and go see what other states are doing. Why would I pay to drive on a death trap that doesn’t even function as a tollway was designed?

Toll 49 is unsafe and not properly maintained. I have no faith that expanding the current failure will do anything than make existing issues a bigger problem.

When planning for 49 began it was a 4- lane divided concrete road--NOT toll. A local politician got involved because it came near her home and stopped that project. NOW we have an incredibly unsafe toll road. Too many people have died due to poor planning for this high speed loop around Tyler!
STOP building until you fix what is wrong! Does the safety of this road only become real when it affects someone close to you?

Dont't extend until the existing path is made safe. We've many lives on Toll 49. My husband and I barely avoided a head-on collision. A driver was passing three cars and we barely avoided him at the last minute. Since then I have avoided 49.

Do not extend this poorly designed and built dangerous road. I avoid the existing toll road because of the unusually high number of accidents and deaths.

Existing toll road isn't safe. Ridiculous to okay to drive down a 2 lane highway. Tollroads need to be 4 lanes. They would be alot safer. Fix current part of 49 and don't extend.
