This project is a complete travesty and waste of money. Completely stupid idea. The board should be ashamed of themselves for tying to slip this past "We The People" of Brickshire. We don't need this and can't afford it. No fee increase is acceptable especially for something as wasteful as this when there are so many other needs that would be better to address.

Brickshire does not need a pavilion. This money should definitely be put towards a new and bigger pool.

Why a Pavillion? Isn't enlarging or enhancing the pool more needed? Just because we have money is that a reason to spend it?

Agree we need/ should have been asked before using our funds. We don't live there, we do have a lot. Fees don't need to be wasted if everyone is #1. Asked for their vote #2. Fees raised .

We do not need a Pavillon that seats 120 people! There are definitely other projects that the community may need and or would enjoy more! There at least need sot be a much larger discussion for an expense of $150,000.

RE: communication that is exactly the point. I don't think anyone on the Board (full disclosure: my wife is on the Board) is a bad person and I think they all want what's best for the community - they give a lot of their time and handle a lot of stuff for us; but an expenditure of this magnitude needs to be in the hands of the homeowners ...or at a minimum we/they need to know about it. Having it in the notes or meeting minutes is not the way to get the message to the owners.
As I understand it, there is a reserve for this so it would not raise HOA fees but I'm not an expert on that and I'm not speaking for anyone other than myself; but just because there are funds there does not mean they need to be spent on this.

As I read the letter, these are excellent questions. If the project has not been approved by the board, funding not available, whose paying for this? $150K is a lot of money. I'm not in favor of building a pavilion and the potential of increasing HOA fees to pay for an unwanted project. Over the years, my experience is that a pavilion or similar structure is used on a limited basis and a poor investment. BTW, this is the first time I am hearing of this sizable expenditure. Where is the communication?

It's true that this bad idea has been floating around for a while; but no one has enlightened the owners of the cost which is $150,000 minimum but may rise even higher.
