the street is not wide enough to remove a good part of it where cars cannot pass.

The risks of creating a bike lane in front of a high school far outweigh the benefits.
If buses can't pull up in front of the school the drop off and dismissal will potentially become very dangerous.

Our first priority as a society is to our children who are the future. While bike lanes are valuable, they do not belong on the block of a school. The safety and transportation needs of our children must always come before general leisure activities. Thank you.

Bike lanes should not come at the expense of pedestrian safety, especially near a school.

Very dangerous for the girls getting on and off the buses, and for the general flow of traffic during school hours

This street (East 70th) is not a smart safety choice for a bike lane. Put it on a block that does not have a school on it.

As Executive Director of Manhattan High School for Girls, I feel very strongly that there are several very good reasons not to have a bike lane on 70th Street:
1. Our school has over 250 people coming and going and getting on and off school buses all day long - unsafe!!
2. This is an ambulance through street - there are hospitals on E. 70th and many ambulances drive through daily.
3. the street is narrow - dangerous for bikers, drivers & pedestrians.

a bike lane in this location would be dangerous to a large number of children and disrupt the functioning of our school. Please do not place the bike lane on e. 70th
