For all of those people who are in favor of the bell change think about this, with as busy as our family lives are today with work schedules, homework, sports, dance and all of the other things we have to get done how do you expect elementary school aged children to get the appropriate amount of rest/sleep having to get up so early in the morning. Teacher have a hard enough time trying to keep children focused and willing to learn, what's going to happen when they have to spend half the day trying to wake children up to learn? There will be less learning and our teachers will be more like babysitters. I know my child does not do well with less sleep. The financial impact it would have on many families could be huge. If you have never had to worry about financial concers regarding child care consider yourself very lucky, but can you imagine the stress of having to leave you children home alone (which is against the law to begin with) because you can't afford child care? It's not fair to the working families or families that have younger children that will be affected. There is no reason to change the bell schedule.

the new bell hours will negatively impact many families where both parents work. These hours are not good. Please don't change the times!

This is WAY to early to try and get children up and ready for school. The first hour of instruction will be wasted on children who are still half asleep!!!

this change seems to be driven by a problem with the current transportation set-up. Why can this situation not be fixed w/o disrupting schedules?

This is way too early to begin school. We already wake them up to rush them as it is!

Please do not change the bell schedule. Daycare would be required for many children and that would create more expenses for families that may not be able to afford them.

i will never vote for anyone on the school board that votes for this change and will actively support anyone who runs against them. Obviously the people making these decisions do not have children that will be affected by these changes! Shame

It is difficult to believe they are taking this as a serious option, but they are.
