Let the gentleman be. He serves a very useful purpose in the market and rather than an outright ban, surely there are other solutions.

People came to Brixton for the Culture which is heavily Caribbean but it has now become just another trendy hot spot,not unique and the Jerk ban is discrimination when now as a resident,with all the replacements of shops to bars,the smell of champagne urine and vomit now greets our noses instead of Jerk..Leave the originals be..Long live Jerk in Brixton

Don't mind that gentrification of Brixton, but if it means loosing the authentic it doesn't make sense! Bring back the smell of real BBQ!!

Yet again, a lambeth resident is prevented from being enterprising! Lambeth does not have a canteen, so many of us buy our lunch from Jeff! Give him a chance!

Perhaps a better idea would be to move the store owners who suddenly have an issue with the smoke to a new location? Jeffs freshly BBQ'd chicken is part of the stalls identity and is what makes his food so popular. Jeff has been there specialising in BBQ chicken for over 8 years - why shut down his business.

I like the different sights smells and foods of Brixton. "Difference" is what makes London London. If you like stale, dead areas where you can't get freshly made Jerk Chicken... leave Brixton.

The smoky bbq-ness along that stretch of brixton market is a part of brixton's identity. Much prefer the smell of jerk chicken to the smell of gentrification

wouldn't say it's racial cleansing- bbq's are banned in a lot more places than the street but i think they should stay!
