Banning is not the answer

The smoke is a bit over-whelming at times, but banning it is out of proportion. Jeff has been here a long time, before us new traders set up our Saturday stalls. Its unfair that he should now have to curtail his business.

This is wrong Jeff the chef brings in trade his stall is somewhere I recommend to any friends coming into Brixton. It's not right to take the traditional cooking away but also the smell of the drums is what Brixton is all about I have lived here for 7yrs & have never stopped enjoying approaching the market and smelling what's cooking this is what adds to the vibe of Brixton market!!!

Nowadays I live abroad and one of my favourite stops when I come to visit London is Brixton Market. I love to have a Jerk chicken, a coconut and a nice walk around.

This is Brixton Market FFS! Jerk Chicken is essential to the character of the market. BBQ is essential to Jerk Chicken. Don't like the smell of BBQ smoke? Move/work/visit somewhere else. Nuff said, as we might say in Brixton....

The smell of jerk chicken is what made the markets great, and what made the chicken taste good! Surely there has to be some kind of compromise...

This sucks. Jeff the chef is an institution. Brixton is the home of jerk cooking in London!!!
