Please reconsider. Natural turf is better for the kids, the neighborhood, and the planet. As an aside, the litigation arising from use of artificial turf will put a big dent in Maret’s budget and will not be a selling point for prospective students and their parents.

Given the negative affects on our children's health and the environment, it's hard to believe we (especially enlightened communities like Maret) are still putting in turf fields. Do a couple rained out games a season really impact our kids that negatively that we are willing to risk their health and the health of the planet they are to inherit?

Please be respectful of the community's wishes! We want everyone to be healthy and safe in the end, and an artificial turf is not the solution.

Going with well managed natural grass over artificial turf is a no brainer these days, assuming the community cares about the health and safety of the users, by not exposing them to toxic chemicals (including PFAS). There is a reason to pay exorbitant fees for a much more dangerous playing surface, plus the chemicals and micro/nano plastics from the turf will affect whatever watershed and possible drinking water sources with which they come in contact. This information and data is easily accessible to anyone with internet access. Do your homework!

Do the right thing Maret. You've been poisoning and frying children for too long with plastic carpets that shed microplastics and contain toxics such as PFAS chemicals.

Concerned as someone whose family lives right next to the field and will be breathing in the harsh chemicals given off particularly during the super hot DC summer months.
