No Artificial Plastic Turf at Maret/ECC Sports Facility

We cannot let Maret poison our neighborhood with PFAS artificial turf

What a shortsighted plan. Not only environmentally harmful, but far more injuries happen on artificial turf than the real thing.

Artificial grass is bad for kids and the environment.

This is an absurd proposition.

This petition is vital to our neighborhood's health!

There is so much evidence about the negative health and environmental consequences of installing turf that it is hard to believe that a school that cares for children is considering risking their lives and the future of the planet for something to play on. An organic grass playing field, like most professional teams use (for good reasons) is cheaper, easier to maintain and achieves the same goals. Why not give it a shot?

This is such a beautiful green space within the neighborhood. It's enough that trees are being removed to accommodate Maret. Carpeting with turf will completely decimate what charm remains to this part of the city.

Maret has already scarred the environment by removing more than 60 trees from the site. Artificial turf would be a further assault on the environment and an additional slap in the face to the community. Does Maret care about their new neighbors?

Scientific evidence has proven that artificial turf is toxic to the environment and especially to children. It is irresponsible to install it on the Maret field. It must be stoooed now.

I think you should reconsider your plan to use artificial grass. Please use natural grass instead.

Use real grass!

Please rethink this plan and look at way to make natural grass turf work.

Plastic fields harm the children who play on them and the surrounding neighbors.

Please get real grass. It is better to play on. It is better for the environment. It is better in the summer when the temperatures are high. It is better for the health of the people that use it and in the surrounding area.

We must keep PFAS away from our children. Maret can hire a good field maintenance crew to keep the fields happy.

Please for health reasons especially for children playing on the field

Bad for the kids playing on plastic turf, bad for the neighborhood, bad for waterways, bad for the environment. How could a respected school modeling its actions for the next generation make such an irresponsible choice?
