Florida A&M University's Chemistry Department is penalizing all students enrolled in the 2016 Spring Chemistry 1045 and 1046 courses by not allowing the students to take the American Chemical Society (ACS) Final Exam because of their irresponsibility in both guarding and administering the exam. This eliminates 15% of the students grades. Thus, resulting in many students failing, being required to repeat the course, and/or loosing their scholarships. The department continues to ignore the impact these missing exam grades have on our GPAs and scholarships. Email the Department Chair today to demand they restore the full grading scale for every student in these sections.

I really needed this test so that it could boost my grade. This isn't fair at all.
I have taken the general chemistry ACS, the Organic Chem 1 ACS and the Organic Chem 2 ACS twice. After taking them I can say that the time that we had to touch on the material in the semester was not equivalent to the amount of material that was expected of us on the ACS exams. The ACS was almost the entire textbook , in class we maybe covered about 10-15 chapters at most.
My advisement was based on all of the upcoming grades in this class, as I had planned on dropping the course
Why try to bring these young people down as if they don't face enough problems in america already
This will be my 3rd time taking it. And it was my last hope of passing the class.
Let them take the exam!

I really need this to boost my GPA so that u can actually get into grad school. I felt like all the professors were horrible and did not really teach anything. My professor basically just showed powerpoints all semester with or explaining anything. They were always channing the syllabus around. The homework went from not being in the syllabus to extra credit time being 20% of our grade. And I still don't know what I've made on exams 3 and 4 because they were never posted on blackboard. This was an chemistry was an awful experience. I've been in hard classes but it almost seems like the goal of the department is to fail it's students.
