court set an amount of c/s. Lowered the current amout as the non custodial parent worked $45,000 on the books and did not claim taxes.. And about $30,000 off the books.. I'm lucky to clear $15,000!! RIDICULOUS

I too have endured nj horrible child support enforcement. Getting someone to do thier job Is virtually impossible. Then whenever my case worker calls back she treats me like dirt just because I want her to follow up on my case.

Writing a check is NOT child rearing. Help the struggling parent so the struggle isn't passed along to the child

I'm get child support biweekly and the last week of the month I get 1/3 or less of what my child support is. I should be getting it in full. Since they changed the system it sucks.

System is horrible. Money comes straight out of my ex's paychecks every single week. Yet, i get the money every other week, sometimes 3 weeks, and at one point ONCE A MONTH. Payments are sporadic and are never the correct amount. Trying to speak with a caseworker is also a very big issue!

I am a non custodial parent, with no source of income, paying over $150 a week, and my arrears are over $35,000. I've went for downward modification several times, change of venue because she lives out of state and I noon ER live in that County, and it a hardship for me to get to probation to handle any child support issues. I have no money for an attorney, or money to visit my child in Georgia, which was moved out of the state without my knowledge. I'm constantly placed under arrest for bench warrants because I can't pay the $150 a week with no income, and a suspended drivers license. Only to have other family members try to come up with some money to get me out, just to start the process all over again.

with health care changing and high deductible plans in place in most public and priviate sector companies, how is it that the custodial parent is responsible for the first 250.00 in out of pocket expenses ???? This needs to change just as Health care is changing.. We no longer have copay plans as an option... i work in the health care industry and know first hand.

I do not understand why child support payments are so inconsistent in time and payment amount, when I discussed this with several different persons working for EPPicard, local probation, nj kids hotline customer service, and most recently an official from the judiciary court system I was given several conflicting explanations. I would like to understand how the "system" posts in an unorganized incompent manner.
If you have x amount owed to you and that amount is sent to probation why do they "hold" the money vs simply delivering the weekly or accumulated biweekly amount? Instead it is erratic and based on a "systematic calculation" that makes no sense to me. I have heard that the state or federal level is profiting on this money and that is why the payments are held vs sent to the children they are entitled to in a timely and consistent fashion. If that is true perhaps the person paying child support should be receiving a yearly interest check for their hard earned money being used for government profit vs their children's needs. Not sure if this is accurate but something does not add up.
The customer service line does not help or support and payments are not received in a consistent manner. This is a sad reality for people who can not simply receive the money directly from the obligator, seems the government is taking advantage of families and children. Profiting some way?

I have a current CS case which I get weekly but it does not clearly add up to the amount I have to take care of my child on a daily basis Plus with extracurricular activities, summer camps while I work, and before and after school programs is solely up to the custodial parent, which is very expensive while the non custodial parent is only obligated to pay a weekly amount and that's it, just not fair and something needs to be done so both parents share equal responsibility and also make non custodial parents to see their children more often whether meeting a park or something they need to have more obligations than that weekly benefit amount!

I find the courts to be overzealous when it comes to the non custodial parent taking such a large percentage of their income leaving them to struggle to survive while the custodial parent might not even be asked to work god forbid some unlikely crises occurs the non custodial 's life can become ruined need quicker access to remedies

I also think the courts need to put more time into understanding what is really going on and make those tough decisions. This would eliminate a lot of frustration and returns to court. In the end the children are the real victims.

Please change this terrible atrocity called child support. Let's start punishing those who do not abide by Court mandated child support orders. If not, allow us to close our cases and be done with it.
