I have 2 father's that have no problem not supporting their children and nothing is done to make them.

The NJ calculations for child support are less than a monthly car payment. The custodial parent is penalized for what they make and the non custodial parent isn't responsibile for a decent amount of obligation. Why should the custodial parent doing all the work struggle monthly and go into debt while the non custodial parent lives a normal life of no responsibility. With the child support I receive I may as well have had the immaculate conception. The custodial does not receive enough money for shelter food clothes activities of they make more than the non custodial. The non custodial should be responsible for a decent amount of child support regardless of salaries. The single custodian has no breaks for taxes etc from the gov't if you aren't claiming poverty and taking advantage of the system and actually working just trying to make it. I don't think the gov't cares at all about us single parents the laws stink. The sad part is there are more single parents than married and this is never addressed there should be some form of relief for the single working her butt off parent.

The system is broken and in dire need of repair. The family court judges are so biased. It's you owe you pay. Never mind the fact illegal errors were made. And trying to get them corrected
Or the fact you pay what's owed out of your check. That's not enough. The system sees you have a second job and collects full payment from that one. Takes about 3 payments to get that corrected. Good luck with a refund. No wonder most men go under the table. The state can't get it right. It's we are wrong more matter what. The system harms everyone. I see the stories about the dead beat parents. But not every parent is a deadbeat. A lot of us are victims of a system that just doesn't care. It's not always about money. Takes more than money to raise a child.

Yes please get the laws changed, as my ex husband owes over $180,000.00 and he can afford to go buy beer, (just saw him coming out of Junction Liquors)cigarettes and let's not ever talk about his drug....I have struggled for 13 years and my children have gone without food, new shoes, water, electric, gas, cable tv, computers and an education. Talk about cause and effect!!!!

my x moved to Alabama.. went to court , and got the child support payment changed from $150 wk to $10 a week. This was back in 1988.. State of NJ did nothing to stop this change.. after reading what others have commented.. I see nothing has changed in the child support system! It still sucks

I have had more issues with this new system then any other. Love that my son's father has more money then me but yet is in arrears because nothing is being done.

I should not have to call every 2 weeks to have my x locked up when he doesn't send me a payment. They lock him up and the next day he gets a get out of jail for free card.

The entire system needs to change. Everything from having to wait months to get a court date, to changing the phone system. I have lost hope and know that it will all fall on me and me alone.

My Daughter is a hard working Mom.....She works a full time job & works two other jojoba to try to give her kids what they need & my want....she gets no support from her Daughters father and he works off the books in a different state. It's rediculise that he gets away with non support. As my Daughter struggles and my Grand Daughter goes without.
