The whole system sucks! you can never talk to a real person. My child support comes every 3 weeks if that and it's never the full amount, It used to be every week but that has changed for some reason! Also HUGE problem, FATHERS HAVE NO RIGHTS! Example- good guy great with his child but he only gets to see his daughter once a week! He's been fighting it for 3 yrs now. Why doesn't fathers have rights? Apparently his x makes the decision instead of following the court order! The system NEEDS to change!

I agree 100%. I am the boyfriend of a single mom with two children and an ex husband who hides his income and is always in the rears.

Thank you Dave. I think you stated it correctly when you said "lac of functioning system". Whethere you are a custodial or non custudial parent...this system is not working.

3. Is there a bench warrant?

I am sorry Joe. How would you suggest that the money be used directly toward your children? Or, what amount do you feel your children can live on? Do you have a better calculation method then the current one?

This system is terrible,I have a garnishment bi weekly,she is not using the money for my child,but uses it to vacation,and buy new cars,as I cannot live .with the balance of my pay

My x husband is over 25,000. Behind in child support I have made countless calls to my "case worker" asking her to only do her job and enforce my child support agreement, she has done nothing. I have contacted her supervisor for help and she has done nothing. My x hasn't paid a cent since August 2014 and the only thing he can not do is get a passport. If I performed my job at the low level of Essex County child case enforcers I would be unemployed.

This needs to involve people whose lives are effected by this program. The families that are broken up due to jail time, the parents that are strigheling because of lack of finances, the forgotten who want to so better but the system isn't built for unity and progress.

As a United Methodist pastor, I am appalled by the number of children whose lives are torn apart by the system (Actually, lack of a functioning system.) that determines how their lives can be led. Too many parents escape their obligation to provide essential support for children they helped create leaving the burden on the custodial parents.

A whole new system needs implemented in NY as well. Job placement for the non custodial parent is not even offered here! Personally I have never been offered legal aid nor have there been any I have found on my own! I would definitely like to see a more effective system for obtaining payments from the non custodial parent.
