Men and woman whom owe chikd suppport need to know there are repercussions for negligence. The courts aren't willing to do what's right.

It's repulsive what these lawyers are charging now that there is no legal aid. How do u continue to find ways to take from the needy and continue to fuel the greedy? I have an open case in NJ and it's disgusting how they allow these lawyers to rip off single parents that are ALREADY struggling to raise their kids ALONE! I was appalled to learn that incest and same sex marriage are funded and fueled, but CHILDREN still have to go without due to a "budget cut"? NJ needs LEGAL AID for family division!

after 10 years not one elected official or case worker is able to explain the following, can you?
After 1 day of being late for a credit card payment, your privilege is revoked and a penalty is assessed. However, the State of NJ allows a non- custodial parent a 2 week grace period before contacting them.
How is it that a judge can order bench warrant, yet child support, who does not know the facts of the case, can use their discretion as to whether or not it is carried out..what then is the purpose of the judge?
all forms have been filled, fee's payed to have local and state funds garnished..yet after 6 months, the case worker is still "monitoring" this and funds are not being garnished. at what point do we take action and not just "monitor"
if a parent choose's not to appear in court for a motion, does not ask for a new date, just simply ignores the motion..then wouldn't you think that they have given up their right to be heard..therefore allowing the judge to speak with the other parent?
and the list of questions goes on.

Mine ex didn't fill in his place of employment and then fell into arrears because he conveniently forgot to put down his place of employment for the child support garnishment

All of these problems I have encountered in the 2+ years I have been a custodial parent in this system. With regards to payments, the disbursement of the timely payments is erratic at best. There is no way a custodial parent can plan around an income that is so sporadic, we have to guess when we will be getting paid. I had to pick up a second job when my non custodial was paying on time every week. Lucky I did because when he stopped paying all together it took me 3 months to realize that he in fact hadn't been paying, that's how erratic the payments are. Also when I called to address the non payment issue I had to provide them with the non custodials work information which feels much more like I am taking hostile action when I was told by placing the payments in the courts hands they will be taking all responsibility. It then took them 3 more months to get him in a court room only to tell him he has to start paying some way or another no specifics no guidance and no plan for me to actually support our child alone. This system absolutely doesn't benefit anyone especially the children. To have one parent able to keep seeing his children as per schedule, while the other parent works 2/3 jobs to make ends meet and not able to see her children due to work issues. I hate to use the word UNFAIR but that's just what it is.

I moved away from NJ years ago to get peace from my x that was costing me more money in legal fees.he never wanted to pay child support.. he owes me over 50K. Im in debt from rising the kids without his help.. we had the case in NJ originally but he always aged to get away from paying.. he moved to vegas to not be arrested every 2 years (thats how long it took to catch him) and be let go after only paying $100 and claiming he don't have a job. He refuses to this day to get a job just so he don't pay me anything. he moved to vegas where he gambles over $1000 a night with money from women he dates to take care of him and his expensive habits. he's abusive and a narsasistic alcoholic. My boys moved away at 18 to live with him and his mother as they promised the world to them but only use them now. one of my boys tried to live with him and paid his fathers bills. his father took all his money until my son said no more then his dad beat him and kicked him out of the home (which my son was paying everything) now he lives with his grandmother sleeping in her patio they call a bedroom (now 22). he wants to move back to florida and go to school but his grandmother guilts him into it n keeps him broke so he cant go or do anything he should..him and his young bother (19) work to pay their grandothers bills (father mother) while she spends spends spends and racks up the debt. their father lives the life in NV, their grandmother (in NJ) uses them to pay her bills (while her real children do not help her at all and moved as far away as possible). My 2 boys should be in college. i cant help them as I'm broke from raising them with no help from their father with child support or any support he only gave me problems.. I am in debt due to him and i wish i could help my boys get away from there if i got what he owed me maybe i could save them.. I am still in florida now trying to raise their younger half brothers. My boys want to go to college and get a career, but are discouraged (

There are a lot of struggling single parents out here with non custodial parents driving new cars and living well. Please help our children get the care they need by cracking down on these individuals

My ex husband owes me over 30k in arrears. I contacted nj child support to ask that they go after his pention for those arrears. I was told by my case worker that they have to give him an opportunity to make good on those arrears and she would call him. Now keep in mind a judge has ordered him to pay 200 a week in arrears which he has ingnored. Anyhow during that phone call he told the case worker that we have been divorced since 2009 and that child support was for only five years. Which all is true but the divorce papers and property settlement clearly states that the alimony doesn't start until the sale of the marital home which was sold in 2011, well the case worker not only canceled the order for alimony but took 20k in arrears back. Its been over three weeks that I have received anything and its still not rectified. I'm getting the run around every time I call. I'm currently in school and will graduate this fall. I planned to live on this while I got a career that will.support my children and I and no longer have to depend on the man that I have to beg to support his child. I don't know where to turn to or who to contact at this point.

This whole system is a joke, why are some paying for kids that are grown, working and not living home??? Amazing nothing is done about the one who pays unconditionally while the one receiving turns it into greed and should now be considered alimony, not child support!!!!!

Support amounts do not reflect NJ cost of living!!!!!!! Lawyers and the court system hurt families by forcing them into expensive litigation instead of allowing families to file on their own behalf...create easier methods for divorce proceedings, so families don't go into debt to file for divorce.

The payments are not being sent regularly despite the obligor showing that they are being sent regularly. How do you reach customer service to speak to someone? It shouldn't be this difficult to speak to a human!!

Child support enforcement? What a joke. Complete waste of tax dollars. Probation officers did next to nothing to begin with. Now that there is an "automated" telephone number they do even less.
I do not pay or receive child support just my observation after dealing with custodial and non custodial parents.

For non custodial parents that have committed to all financial obligation and that child is an adult, not enrolled in college , the laws under family court make it impossible to terminate child support.
This system needs to be changed to reflect more support for non custodial parents that have done their job and enforce legal penalties for custodial parents, the mother that tries to collect financial support illegally and avoiding court orders.
