We purchased a condo on Cherokee Blvd and moved in two weeks ago. We are already considering selling. The motorcycles/cars with loud engines/noises are terrible! And they practically drag race on Cherokee/Frazier. All the tourists and pedestrians - I can't believe someone hasn't gotten seriously injured. I don't understand how this can be allowed.

I live right above Hixson Pike and the motorcycle thing is really getting out of hand. They come around that bend at Barton and crank it wide open. Many are doing over 100 by the time they pass my place...it's the noise that's the real problem. It's incredibly loud. It's constant on weekends. I've seen the same group 3-4 times within hours. We have a vehicle noise ordinance in the city, cops even had decibel meters in the patrol cars at one point. Never seen one of these bikers pulled over.

We have lived here for many years and never had this problem. These are not people just coming and going to work. This just started last year after everything shut down because of the virus. Guess these people are bored and looking for excitement. They ARE breaking the law when speeding as fast as they can. They don't make that kind of noise driving 40 mph down Dayton Blvd, Hixson Pike, etc. These are not law abiding people. Also, this is not one or two people, but gangs of cyclist riding together especially thru the wee hours of the night disturbing normal families that are trying to sleep.

I'd also like to add the noise coming from bass from within a person's car is out of control in nooga as well. There are numerous studies that have linked noise pollution to increased anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

We live in downtown Chattanooga. The noise is extremely loud. It is out of control. It should not be like that in a civilized society.

Motorcycles on Hixson Pike are so loud and they awake citizens all night long.

Agreed. Noise and speeding on Barton/Hixson is beyond out of control.

I live on Fairhills Drive. The motorcycles starting around 10pm are awful. They are getting worse as they read the complaints on social media. It’s total disregard for our neighborhoods. Please have the police ready on Barton Ave to ticket these people. Most of the speeds sound reckless and very dangerous.

I live on ML King between Central and downtown. The noise and speeding from private individuals on motorcycles and in cars has been escalating in recent months to a frightening level.

The racing crochet rocket motorbikes race for hours on end in the evenings. I often hear a peak between 7-9pm and another peak between 1-3am. Sometimes the gunning of the engines almost sound like a conversation and the conversation feels threatening.

Noise and speeding is a constant problem on Hixson pike in the 1000 section. It is dangerous to even get out of our vehicle because people drive so recklessly down that street

The disregard these motorists have for others is frustrating. I can only imagine the level of frustration felt by a parent with a sleeping baby or someone with PTSD . We have a dog with anxiety (she was a rescue) and she trembles at the noise. A group of motorcyclists meet at the BP on Hixson Pike and Hanover. They rev their bikes and laugh when you look at them. They actually try to intimidate you if you look their way. I have called CPD many times over the years. They terrorize our neighborhood.

The noise is all over North Chattanooga. Motorcycles and cars love to rev their engines on Frazier Av. and the Market St. bridge. I think they look at it as a challenge. It would be easy to patrol these areas and the city could generate significant revenue and satisfy the tax paying constituents at the same time. It's a no brainer.

Concerned with these motorcycles & their speed, time of day & zig zagging especially with school buses with children aboard and their safety. These motorcyclists have absolutely NO REGARD FOR THE LAW OR OTHER VEHICLES.

This is a public health emergency... affects our hearing, our sleep, our anxiety about safety. My poor dog is a shivering mess as well when they come roaring by a dozen times a daily/nightly
