I have a 2008 Nissan Rouge with similar CVT transmission problems. It was replaced with a rebuilt one by the dealer about a year ago, it is acting up once again.

I am having issues with my CVT transmission in my Nissan Sentra. Took it to the dealership, and was told I missed my warranty by NINE HOURS. Apparently the extended 10-year warranty had expired at midnight the night before. I've battled with Nissan over this and they will not budge. So disappointed with Nissan.

I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue. Was driving home from work I stopped at a stop sign. Tried to accelerate and the car would not go. I turned and it wouldn’t go. People were passing me and telling me to get off the road. I turned off the road and pulled over.

Have had transmission replaced twice this year. And the latest CVT installed in my car is also faulty. Nissan is not willing to work with me on a decision I'm comfortable with

2012 Nissan Murano - CVT failure

My 2012 Nissan Murano suffered a transmission failure this week. CVT transmission, which seems like a tremendous issue with Nissan vehicles. Car was running fine then out of the blue started shuddering violently when accelerating and suddenly made a pop sound and lost all ability to accelerate. Transmission guy said he sees more Nissans than just about any make...specifically those with CVT. Called Nissan mentioning the research I had done seeing class-actions suits and numerous reported claims and they are having me send it to a Nissan Dealer to assess it and make a determination. Hoping they will be reasonable, as there is no good reason the car should have this problem, other than faulty design. If that gets me nowhere, I intend to find a class action to join and will be filing the appropriate complaints with BBB, State AG and blowing up social media to get the word out. anyone with advice, feel free to reach me via twitter @turn3john

Yes!! This is a very well known issue and is extremely dangerous. Try driving thru mountains..very narrow with no where to pull off. And decellerating to 25 mpg. This is not ok!!! I love to travel and will never own a nissan again as long as they continue with the same transmissions! Looking to get rid of mine now..only had for 2 1/2 years.

2013 Nissan Altima 2.5SL. Bought it with 62k haven’t even put 5k mikes on it, to find out the transmission needs replaced. Nissan extended warrant ends at 60k fighting with Nissan to cover costs but still haven’t came to a resolution. No reason a vehicle with less than 100k is needing a new transmission. From reading consumer reports this is a known isssue and something needs to be done.

2013 Nissan Sentra purchased new. I had issues with the car hesitating within the first month of ownership. Dealer had their "top mechanic road test the car with me. He claimed the car drived normally despite it's hesitating and jerking upon acceleration. I believed him. Five years and 119k miles the dealership tells me the transmission is failing and my extended warranty has expired. Based on what I've been seeing online they knew what the issue was from the beginning.

2013 Altima, original owner. Car has very low mileage (16,400 miles). Car suddenly decelerates, barely gets over 30 mph. which has proven hazardous. Car is at dealership for the second time; first time they said it was "hum" device Verizon talked me into. This was removed and car was OK for about 6 months. The exact thing recurred, only this time they couldn't blame the hum, as I never reinstalled it. Car has been in the shop for 3 days, still no idea what is wrong. I'm 4 months over the 5 year warranty period, although way under the 60,000 mile limit. I'm waiting on the outcome.
