On 11 December 2016, my husband and I were on our way home after dropping our son off to college. On or way, back home, the car just shut off while driving which was quite scary. It stayed cranked for a while after multiple tries allowing us to make it to a gas station. As it was cold out outside and we couldn’t figure out what was wrong, we assumed maybe we needed oil or something. We waited at the gas station for about 30 minutes. The car stayed cranked finally and allowed us to pull off without shutting off. We prayed all the way home. Of course, it did not last long because the car shut off again as we turned into our complex. Then as we hit the curve heading to our street and toward our parking space, the car shut off again. My car was towed to Passport Nissan in Marlow Heights, MD that morning. I receive the diagnosis report from the dealership and was advised that I needed a new transmission. The diagnostics was that there was metal in the pan. I called the Nissan headquarters in Tennessee. They gave me a case number and they advised me that there was an open campaign on my vehicle regarding transmission reprogramming, but I would not have received the notice yet because they have not sent it out yet. When I went online to research the issue I saw other people with the same issue. They asked me what I want them to do and I said fix my car, it is only three years old. I saw other vehicles with the same complaint and the price was still the same to repair with the same complaint metal in pan. They called me on 16 December and provided me their decision. The representative Meghan told me that they pay $2000 toward repairs and it would come with 12-month warranty and/or 12,000 miles. The decision is based on service being completed by Passport Nissan only. I advised them about a loaner as I have no transportation and must pick up my son from college who is on holiday break. She advised they will not pay and it will be up to the dealership if they decide

I have a 2013 Nissan Altima. I had experienced a shudder or hesitation when I both accelerate or decelerate, much like other drivers have experienced. However, I was driving on the highway today and got off the exit ramp. As I was approaching the light and close to a dead stop, my car stalled or "locked up". All lights were on but I had no power-steering and my check engine and battery light came on. I put the car in park and started it again. It started but then when I put it in drive, the same thing happened as it stalled. I repeated the process and the second time around, it sputtered and stayed on while in drive. I quickly drove it to the nissan dealer down the street and left it with them. They were closed and I have yet to talk to them but after reading up on it, I'm absolutely convinced that the sputtering and stall are a correlation of a bad CVT transmission. Luckily, I should still be covered by the warranty since I bought it in 2012 and only have 56,000 miles on it. Still it shouldn't be happening and I'm interested to see what the dealership will have to say!

I have a 2013 Nissan Altima with a CVT Transmission failure. I have filed a complaint with Nissan consumer affairs and they refuse to do anything. We need to do more to make this known to the consumers and to demand Nissan to take accountability for this well documented problem.

CVT is junk. Nissan knows it. Where is the recall? Add me to the lawsuit. Deadly vehicle.

My 2013 Nissan Altima has experienced shuttering, power fluctuations, jerking, and now a complete transmission failure. Until now I was unaware of the issues with Nissan CVTs. I have just become aware of a Class Action Suit against them for their later models. Nissan should be ashamed. Kevin

My 2013 Nissan Sentra started to shudder, jump, and "judder" (as they refer it) this week. They are calling it a "Campaign" not a "Recall". Nissan is supposed to pay for parts and labor to resolve the issue. It's at the dealership right now and I am waiting to hear back if the whole transmission needs replaced or not. It's VERY dangerous since it will stall your car while driving.

I recently purchased a brand new 2016 Nissan Rogue. After having the car for for less than a week and only having 343 miles on it the transmission failed while my children and I were on the freeway. Thankfully we were able to safely make it to the shoulder and no one was seriously injured or killed. Nissan North America refuses to buy back or replace this ticking time bomb. I'm worried about what will happen next and the car doesn't even have 1,800 miles on it. Nissan needs to be held accountable!!

2013 Altima cvt transmission suddenly died on the side of the freeway. There is no reason a transmission should suddenly, without warning give out at 70k milage. The transmission was made to break and is a hazard to everyone on the road.

2013 Rogue. Rattles and shudders. Poor acceleration, doesn't start at times. Deteriorating rapidly. The dealership says nothing is wrong.

I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue and almost got hit from behind on a highway with my infant in the car because the car wouldn't accelerate. Nissan is aware of the danger and does not care.

I just bought this 2014 Nissan Versa from a dealer and immediately noticed the transmission slipping. I have told the dealer, the warranty company, their mechanics and Nissan themselves and NO ONE wants to help me! It wont even get up to speed when a lane is ending and I've almost gotten hit several times and have caused a road rage incident because the car wont speed up and to them it seems as though i just don't know how to drive! I have my toddler daughter in the car and i'm scared to death for our safety! I'm beyond angry and frustrated that NOTHING is being done about this!

The CVT went out in my 2013 Nissan Altima at 60,000 miles. I had to pay $4790.00 out of pocket. This is ridiculously sad that Nissan has not recall these faulty vehicles. I will never purchase another Nissan EVER! You I'm I
