This is ridiculous! You are going to drive everyone out of New Haven. I love living in New Haven.

Very disappointed in the mayor and aldermen of New Haven to allow this hike in our taxes and the nerve of the mayor to then give out raises to her cronies. If you own property in NH you are screwed in more ways then one. High taxes on autos, on realty etc., time to move out and leave the city.

There is no words to Express how angry we are at the tax Hike just to turn around and give people pay raise this isuncalled for mayor Harpshould be ashamed of herself and everyone who voted yes to this should be ashamed of themselves how are people hard-working people going to pay for their taxes you were just going to see more houses going for sale and people getting out of New Haven I think we should all get together and protest that we’re not going to pay this ridiculous increase I understand Texas need to go up at 11%

Taxes are too high, common man can no longer afford to support high salaries of too many city employees!

After this latest tax hike, I will be selling my house in New Haven and moving my family to a more responsible town.

This tax increase is insulting. Live within your means and if cuts are needed, so be it. Let’s use a little common sense here, driving up taxes will drive people out.

It’s outrageous and should be an impeachable offense that mayor has given raises, without approval, to some of her staff. Why, does she think they will quit otherwise? I doubt it. After living in a town whose elected officials took seriously their fiduciary responsibilities it’s an embarrassment living here in a state of unethical and irresponsible behavior.

We’ve had enough! Treat us like the persons who have worked hard to improve all of New Haven. Don’t treat us like we are hedge fund owners in Greenwich. If you keep it up they’ll soon own all our homes and will not care about the city only their pockets. Try to care about New Haven!

Raising taxes in New Haven will only deepen city's budget hole in the long run, far from covering it.

I might not mind the increase so much if the mayor hadn't requested and received a substantial pay increase for herself right after she was re-elected, and if she hadn't given raises to 37 city employees at a time when New Haven is crying poor. And yet, 11% is a significant increase for the homeowners of New Haven to incorporate into our housing costs.

Why are the New Haven residents having to pay for the exasperated expenses made by those in charge of the budget? An audit should be done of the city’s financial records and officials who have abused this should be held accountable! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
I oppose this unfair tax
