Who thought an 11% increase would be accepted. I suggest 3% with an 8% cut in spending!

I will sign this petition objecting to an 11% increase in PPT and am asking for full transparency of all city spending and raises, based on a gross misuse of funds by the New Haven mayor Harp,

11% hike will mean an exodus of homeowners from the city. Business will leave. Then what?

This is outrageous and unjustified. I’d like to see more transparency on how these decisions are made at very least.

I am discouraged by the lack of concern for the residents of New Haven who are carrying this additional tax burden. Mayor Harp I am a senior citizen who has lived here most of my life and haven’t had a raise since 2003. Tell that to those who just received very large raises. Shame on you

As a recently retired long time new haven resident this is a devastating change which has me considering how long I can afford to stay in new haven.

This is completely unacceptable. When did anyone receive such a large pay increase at the expense of the tax payers? Our mayor should be ashamed of herself to ask this of us.

I got my car tax bill yesterday, and was absolutely floored. There is no way I can afford to continue living in New Haven being taxed like this.
I am leaving New Haven as soon as I can, and taking my skills and salary elsewhere. My husband and I were considering buying a house here next year, but the taxes are so intimidating we are going to move away instead. A lot of our friends (mostly young professionals) feel the same way. These taxes are going to kill a city that had a lot of promise.
