Please don't close the middle school. It would be shame, and I believe not worth the savings.

Our kids are growing up to fast these days as it is! Putting 8th grader is just wrong! We have to find a way to put k to 5 or 6 together!!!

Children first!! Another rushed study that has demonstrated virtually no cost savings. This is a terrible deal for the students, and an even worse deal for the taxpayers who will have to pay for an expensive new school in only 8 years.

Please do not combine 8th grade into the high school. Speaking from experience, it is a disaster.

After this year, I won't have a student in the system. I feel strongly based on research it is not in the best interest of Newtown's youth.
Even though this change wouldn't affect my child, I don't agree that 8th graders belong in a high school atmosphere.

4 years of high school was long enough for me personally. Grouping the schools to K-5, 6-8, then 9-12 makes the most sense to me. That's how it was when I went to school (in Newtown).

This is a very difficult time of developmental transition for all children this age. I do not think that having 8th graders isolated or sharing a building with high schoolers is a good choice. Children are formidable at this time and an environment such as this can have negative comsequences on the development of their identity and self esteem.

Do the research. A very poor decision if adopted

Middle schoolers need a middle school.
