I grew up out here and my sister and friends and I were there almost everyday. I have so many memories being at that pool, and now that I have children I haven't been once. I would love for them to experience the same memories that I have but it is just too crowded all the time. We need something a lot bigger to accommodate all ages. And I think have a nice big lawn area inside the pool area would be beneficial..

I know Pueblo West needs improvements to the Pueblo West Pool. Carol Crosby of PW Parks and Rec has done a great job of maintaining the pool. The pool is aging and needs costly repairs. The PW Metro Dist. Is low on funds to make these repairs. My son is a lifeguard at the pool. The staff does all they can to keep up the pool. I know they do not like sending people away when they are at capacity, but they must follow the rules. PW is in need of an addition or new pool. Finding the funds to do this is very difficult. Please sign the petition to get things rolling toward a new pool.

I believe positive growth is great and a second pool may do the trick maybe on the north side of hwy 50 where there are plans to build a park

Time to spend some tax dollars on things other than worthless center medians and corner ramps with no sidewalks to lead to. This will HELP our community kids and give them someplace to go in summer!

Our community has grown from less than 3,000 to about 35,000 and still has the same swimming pool, it's time for a large pool!

We love going here in our community. The swim instructors are wonderful. We really need a larger pool. Unless we get there an hour before open swim, and wait in line you are turned away from full capacity.

Wow! Our pool has been turning kids away for at least 8 years because it is too small? Last week my daughters' went with their friends. Their friends got in but when my daughters' got up to the desk to pay, they were turned away due to pool capacity. They watched their friends go in to have fun and they had to go home. It's definitely time to address this!
The 2015 Pueblo West Metro District Approved Budget includes $300,000 for repairs to the current pool. That is a sizable chunk of money. As I read through the budget, it was clear the PWMD is doing a great job of obtaining grant monies for various projects. I have attempted to locate grant monies available for building a new community pool but the cut-offs are either "population under 20,000" or "population over 50,000." The last Census has our population at a little over 29,000. I contacted the Colorado Lottery to see if they may have monies available for this project and will report here once I hear back from them.

Barbara Bernard sits on the PWMD Board of Directors and will be presenting this petition to the rest of the board.
Pueblo West is a great community. With all of us coming together to work toward this common goal, I'm certain we will be able to figure it out.

Upgrade the existing pool and add a new one on the North side by the FD! PW has grown and we need more for the kids to do.

Randy has not been to the pool for probably 8 years or more and they were doing the same then turning kids away. We need to repair the existing pool and build another pool.

this is such a great idea. Pueblo West has grown so much over the years. Pueblo West has builded Schools, and Fire Stations it's time to invest in a place for the kids to enjoy. It's also time for the county commissioners to invest in the roads.
