New Ice Rink for Townsville!

Broomball is majorly affected by the closure and need a place to play in order to play wolrds next year!!!

I know a few people who used this for sport. Now they don't have a sport to do. Not good.

Pleas make a new rink it needs kids to make memories

The government gives funds to support other sports, there needs to be investment into the Ice sports- which will result in return revenue with tournaments, comps and events. Hoping for more skating rinks Australia wide.

The Warrina Ice Rink is a valuable arena for sport other than the traditional. A lot of young people rely on rink for their chance to play sports. Some are needing to train for representative competition.

Can't believe the corporate sector can't make this work.... a great attraction to the region, a much needed (and loved) community facility.

We need a new Ice rink. One that is built properly and to last in the hot Townsville summer. Additionally a new one will give rise for the oppertunity to create it so that the ice rink can bring in more money than just from entry fees. A proper size ice rink could mean that Townsville could host State and National competitions for Ice Hockey, Figure Skating and Broomball, bring us on to the same level as bigger cites and bring more money into the city when these events happen. We have the Queensland Broomball team from Townsville, it is ridiculous to think that they can not only not practice on proper size rink before going away to Nationals and World's but also can't host the Nationals because the rink is neither up to scratch or big enough. Please please we need an ice rink, it is somewhere to get out of the heat during summer and is a great place for the school holidays. It gets kids active and it is in a safe environment. We are constantly being told that kids should be more active and this is a great way to do so especially in summer when it is too hot to do much out side.

Townsville needs to continue creating attractions, not reducing them! granted Warrina definitely needed to be better presented, but instead of closing they need the funds to revamp or relocate to a more updated location!

Townsville needs an ice rink for the sporting clubs that use it; for the events that come to showcase on ice; & for those who just enjoy ice skating! My son plays broomball - let them continue!
