Newhall District - Please fix your school calendar problem!

It is time to change. My child going from elementary school to middle school had an even shorter summer. How is that conducive to learning? The idea of keeping the nusd kids out is a good one. It is the only way they will listen if it hits their pocket books. Also, remember this when you are voting for school board members

It's ridiculous that they aren't the same. It's also crazy that we go back to school at the hottest time of year. Maybe only 2 weeks for Christmas

Why is the Saugus district on the hart district schedule but not the newhall district. It's so hard for parents. Please make them the same!

Please align the schools - it is a nightmare for families as it is!

I like the idea of taking my kid out of school to align with the Hart calendar. I think this will get their attention.

We put up with this nonsense for years--16 years!! We've been told by NSD superintendent that the schedule is NOT about the convenience of families. WHAT?! Then who? The unions, that's who. Not the families paying the taxes. Come on NSD! Show some good sense and respect for families.

Please align your calendar with the high school district calendar. It just doesn't make sense to have families split between two different School schedules.

It's miserable for a family to have one child in school two weeks longer than older siblings. Sport programs change their calendar to align with most schools early in summer. Newhall schools are the only ones not aligned. This means early morning practice then run off to make it to school on time for two extra weeks.

Time to end this unnecessary burden on families NSD!

Years in the making!!

I have 4 kids at 3 schools. 2 in NSD 2 in Hart. Please consider the families that are paying property taxes that fund these schools. We are not happy about this.

Please coordinate. It only makes sense. One school district same days for k-12. Its the same families being affected.

With the new calendar this year, my daughter lost 3 full weeks of summer time with her family (2 in June when the high School is off and one in August when the high schools start back). In addition, we have been forced to pay for child care for that week in August, the additional week at spring break, and the rest of thanksgiving week. That cost to our family is unbearable. Please consider how this schedule affects our families.

Please make this happen!

Our schools are amazing so that's why it is so confusing that something so backwards still exists in them. Please fix!

I agree both school districts need to work together on scheduling!

I've been complaining about this for years. It would be nice to have the kids and their parents involved in the calendaring, instead of only the school board and teacher's union.
