Having one of my kids going into middle school soon so really looking forward to sync calendars with NHSD and avoid the burden to my family!

I am a parent in the NSD and a teacher in the Hart School district. This mismatched calendar creates financial and logistical hardship for my family every year. This issue is disruptive to families on multiple levels, and creates hardships and barriers to creating and maintaining functional family structures and routines. The NDS district is already facing declining enrollment and is working hard to entice more families into our schools. I know of at least two families who chose NOT to live in Santa Clarita because the calendar issue presents so many financial and logistical challenges. The excuses provided by the district are smokescreens. Other districts across the country manage to align their calendars without a dip in student achievement.

I will experience this problem with my son when he starts junior high next and my girls remain in elementary for two more years. I foresee this being a huge problem for family vacations, summer and holiday breaks. It seems like it would be easier to have all the calendars sync together and would probably lessen absences.

We have lived in 4 different states and had children in school in all those states. This is the first time we have ever encountered a schedule conflict between Elementary and upper grade schools. I still have not been given a truly valid reason as to why this is beneficial for our children. The #1 indicator of a child's school success is parental involvement, not a calendar. The children in Newhall School district are successful because not only do we have wonderful teachers, but we have wonderful families who are committed to their child's education. Making a schedule that is burdensome for those very families you serve seems nonsensical and counterproductive. Please fix this!

Such a mess. Thankfully elected officials are voted on and can/will be voted out. Listen to the community. Do your job as an elected official representing the people who attend these schools.

I have multiple kids attending Rancho Pico and Oak Hill with different break schedule and its so hard for us when the other is on break and rhe rest are still in school. Its about time to please sync your calendar with Hart School discrict calendar. Thanks

Newhall school district please make these calendar changes which will benefit your clients.

As a working mom of two children this schedule will heavily impact our family routine. Between 1/2 day Fridays, long week vacations during the year, and now this new barrier how do you expect families to have time to bond, as well as plan properly? This is unfair, unhealthy and "un-family".

Please align the calendar correspondingly.

My daughter is attending Rancho Pico as a first year student. My younger daughter still attends Oak Hill, I understand that different schools start at different times but the "time off" days are difficult to handle especially for two working parents that commute. Please think of the familes.

The school system should be about the children and their families. Not about the teachers union and what is profitable for them.

As a father of 4, this is the first year our oldest is in the Hart School District. With 3 more to follow (2 in the Newhall District), this two calendar schedule is already a challenge for our family and has required additional travel, more changes to my work schedule to help with pickups, and, my poor wife, who works from home, spends far more time picking up and dropping off than is necessary. That ultimately hits me in the wallet, so I say, get the calendars in order,

Please coordinate the school calendars. Our family lost 3 weeks of summer vacation together because of the problem.
