Newhall School District - Please fix your school calendar problem.
Having 26 days that do not coordinate with the middle/high school calendar is a burden to my family.
Until you fix this problem my k-6th grade children will not attend school on days that the middle/high school students have off.

I logged on this morning and saw so many people felt the exact same frustration about these conflicting schedules and it honestly makes me feel a bit less crazy for keeping the kids home. Seeing all these messages pouring in confirms that this is a total nightmare for busy families and we definitely need to push even harder to get someone to actually listen.

Teachers do not get to vote on the calendar. Teachers are part of the community in a big way. "The most desirable package?" What teachers are you talking about? I am a teacher, and I would like to have the calendars aligned. You should reconsider your comment.
Agreed. This is so ridiculous. The entire valley should be on the same calendar. This isn't just about convenience, but cost to low income families that have to pay for child care because high school students can't watch lower grade siblings during breaks.
We basically lost a month of our summer because we had 2 weeks with three kids out and one in for June and three kids back in school with one out at the beginning of August. With family on other states we didn't get to visit most.
Please make an effort to rework the schedules so those with high school/middle schill kids AND elementary kids are better able to manage their schedules! I'd even be willing to lose the 3rd week during winter break or the second week of spring break if it helps rectify the schedule issue. Thank you
This is a major logistical issue for our family and unless Newhall corrects their calendar, it will continue to cause havoc for our family for the next 6 (! Yes, 6!) years! It's unconscionable.

You really need to fix this! Our family was spit up for three weeks for the first time over the summer! We have one kid at Pacerita and two at Valencia Valley. The fact you're not on the same schedule is ridiculous when we're all in the same little valley.
