As you may have realized, New Choices Career Development funding for the 2011-2012 fiscal year is at serious risk in this very challenging economy! Our Pennsylvania state legislators are making decisions now about which programs to cut and which to fund. Without this funding, we cannot operate, and the program will close as of June 30, 2011.

New Choices staff is working hard to get the word out to our legislators about the need for continued funding of this successful program, but we can’t do it alone. We’re asking our supporters to sign this petition and to write letters to the governor and local state representatives.

New Choices staff is available to assist you so please contact us if you have any questions or if we can be of any help. Please also send us a copy of anything you submit as we need to document the activity that we are currently undertaking.

If you are a Pennsylvania resident, sign this petition today - send a message to our state legislators that New Choices is a viable, important, and necessary program that is well worth continued funding!

Thank you for supporting New Choices!

New Choices is a free, statewide service designed to help unemployed or underemployed parents, displaced homemakers and individuals in transition achieve economic security and self-sufficiency. Services provided include vocational assessment, development of an individualized career plan and job placement assistance. Classes in computer basics supplement the program. The goal of the program is to empower individuals in transition so they can develop the skills necessary to successfully enter or re-enter the workforce.
