I’m originally from the central coast and near Newcastle and have moved to Brisbane. And since seeing Brisbane change their approach to single use plastics and how amazing it has been!! I really want that for back home in the beautiful nsw. For people to ditch single use plastic straws, coffee cups and plastic spoons and for our counsel to get on top and help save our beautiful beaches and land

No, please do NOT ban single use straws - our friends and families with physical disabilities rely on single use straws at local shops to drink with. The bendable nature of these straws are the only thing that work for them - please, Newcastle Council, do NOT ban single use plastics or you’ll be doing a disservice to our local citizens with physical accessibility needs.

We need to seriously implement this.

We need immediate action from our representative counsel to set the standard for thoughtful event organisation regarding plastic use and the environment, and ensure their contracting partners uphold the same values.
