Hi Bill, We would love for you and as many members of the community to attend the City Counsel meeting on Thursday, September 13th at 7:30pm. The city needs to hear as many voices as possible in regards to this petition. The more people that show up to this meeting and speak, the better our chances will be. Thank you for your support!

There are definitely train engineers who sound the horn louder and longer than the others. I am not sure why the sounding of the horn is even necessary given that the crossings have crossing arms, warning lights, and warning bells.

I leave in the Sycamore Bay and the train goes by and horns really loudly, even at late night, sometimes wakes me up. I am in fully support of this quiet zone.

Zero reason for trains to blow horns for a long duration especially at 2 in the morning. Absolutely ridiculous

Yes! The trains themselves are not as annoying as the horns that are blasted at all hours of the day and night. Added safety provided by the Quiet Zone also needed due to increased development and traffic in the surrounding area.

I work early morning and the train will sound its horn a long ways in the early am around 2am. Depending on the engineer, they would sound the horn alot longer than needed. It feels like some of them sound the horn longer than normal because of the apartment complex near the tracks. Please silence the horn, this is my main reason for moving this complex.

I suppose it would not be that big a deal if all the operators followed some good sense and universal consideration, as in a little "toot" "toot". However...some operators...oh boy...they lay on the horn for WAY longer than is reasonable. I think because of the abuse of some of the train operators, this new quiet zone is needed. It's really that bad at times.

Every night the horns are blaring later and later into the night and earlier and earlier in the morning, I can’t get a good nights sleep. I wish I’d known bout this train before I moved to the area. I would have never moved here

Trains come by and go far beyond 4-5 seconds of consistent horn blowing by our apartment complex

Extremely long and excessive train horn during late hours.

Yes please! Some of the trains that go by will blair their horns excessively long for no reason at all. They know there are apartments here! Rude and irritating! Especially at 3am!

The horn is blown excessively especially during late night/early morning hours. It seems unreasonable. If the conductors behaved reasonably a quite zone wouldn't be necessary. But, sigh, it is.

Please quiet down the train. The train is extremely noisy for the time range of 12 AM to 330 in the morning. I would appreciate any type of noise control because it becomes quite loud, startling, and increases anxiety. The train horn is becoming more of a health issue due to lack of sleep from the train conductor Hitting on the horn for long periods of time.

Much needed, every hour at night hearing a 30 second train blared is unhealthy.

I live nearby and have a difficult time sleeping with the train passing through. This would significantly increase the quality of my life

Both my boyfriend and I live at the far end of the complex - the closest building to the railroad crossing where the trains announce themselves. We want this to stop!
