City of Newark really needs to look into buiding an underway Thornton Rd so that the above train tracks can freely pass. This is especially critical when God forbid Newark Firestation must wait until the train has passed.

Add cedar blvd and other crossing in Newark. Federal law requires to honk whenever cross, but it doesn't require train to run and honk 4 am which deprecate the basic rights of sleep.

It is 2021 and it is widely comprehended by science that noise creates stress in humans. The indiscriminate horn sounding must stop everywhere! Children and parents are torn out of their sleep on a regular schedule throughout the night. There are much smarter ways to ensure safe traffic at train crossings that have to be deployed or the traffic stopped during evening and night times. It is incomprehensible that in 2021 in the first world that we claim to be living in in the US, sounding horns in cities and neighborhoods is permitted or even mandated. I appeal to the authorities in charge to take serious action to protect their constituents from daily harm through egregious train horn noise. Thank you.

UP has significantly increased their frequency at night. There are now 2-4 trains from 12-8 am. (I am near the Haley street crossing) Feels like our elected officials are useless. Maybe we just need to throw out the incumbent by votes.

We just moved to Newark and the train honking all through the night is absurd!! Not sure I would have moved here if I knew how loud it was and that it would wake us up all through the night. I can’t believe it’s legal.

This is awesome! I live off of Cotton ave so it would be great to get cherry and newark blvd added to the list once sycamore is done.

Something changed for the worse at the start of Fall 2020 - Union Pacific is running routes it never did before between 3AM and 6AM. There may be homeless encampments on the tracks that make the trains blow horns when they traditionally didn't. Newark government - you need to address this, it is affecting quality of life of most neighborhoods.

The train honks 3 times every night. This is a nuisance since it wakes us up multiple times at night and it disturbs my sleep.

Other than signing the petition, can we go to the county office and complain? We need a solution asap

Ensure quite zones implemented at all railway crossings in Newark.
