Please sign this online petition to help Marissa Alexander get a new trial. Marissa was given 20 years in prison for firing warning shots to keep her abusive husband from beating her any further and was not granted the Stand Your Ground Law. No one was killed during these warning shots, and these warning shots prevented further injury or the possible death to her personally. Also please sign this petition to try and persuade President Obama to give Marissa Alexander a pardon, or clemency for her release. She is a mother who had never been in trouble with the law. This is completely wrong. she was trying to save her own life. 20 years for a warning shot is insane when she was defending herself from a man who was hurting her. free marissa!
