No matter what, we are independent contractors under a massive umbrella (broker). We uphold the standards that the brokerage expects. By requiring the broker to be equal footing on our advertising will hurt our differenciation from other agents under the brokerages flag, and in essence advertise the broker over the agent who purchases the ad, mug, card, sign etc. This is clearly a negative thing for Realtors that have to sell their name on their own, now they also have to pay to advertise for the broker. Shouldn't then they coop that. This may bring a bunch of larger teams or groups to break away from the franchise broker model. Which then hurts businesses more than helps. Having the representing broker clear is fine but to be equal seems a bit over reaching. They take from us enough money, and we pay them our hard earned money , and now pay for their advertising too? Unfair

Brokerage logos don't need to be any larger than a 30 to 70 ratio with team names. Consumers form bonds with agents who explain the brokerage role in the relationship.

Seems unnecessary, especially from a financial stand point. No need to be so wasteful.

Looks Like the MIchigan Association is largely out of touch with it's membership to ablatenly assume this was wanted by Realtors ?

I agree. Realtors should be able to spend their marketing dollars to brand themselves.

Including business cards, letterhead, advertising, etc. is an overreach to the extreme. I can understand signage, but that is about all!!

Just let us do our jobs! Let us represent our clients the best way we know how. Having home inquiries go to a large anonymous company database is not in the best interest of our clients.

I truly hope this is adjusted to keep the agents who are serving their clients in mind instead if a few franchise brokers.

This proposal is unnecessary and a waste of time & resources. Focus on something that actually PROMOTES our industry!!

Please reconsider this ruling! It isn't fair to most realtors and wasn't disclosed to most of us up front. If we are expected to be up front and have transparency with our brokers and our clients, then we should have the SAME RESPECT in return!
