Conversation of the night... Me: The new schedule will require 16 more tables in the cafeteria and running 130 more students through the lunch line in 7 less minutes. Kids are complaining there's no place to sit and they go sit outside already, let alone when you cram students into every available space in the cafeteria. Actual Student: I have to eat in the Commons because there's no place to sit. Mr. Tarpey: We've never heard any complaints. And we run C/D lunch on early dismissal days with no problem. Student, Class of 2014: C/D lunch was hell! The lunch plan of the new schedule is an obvious weak link that they are glossing over. Perhaps Mr. Tarpy, and all the admins and Board members need to hear from students and their parents what lunch at LHWHS is REALLY like. Email and/or tell them all personally. Speak now, or forever hold your peace. Don't let them get away with such an obvious lie.

I've heard that Griffiths didn't actually even run it by the board. He unilaterally decided it and presenting it to the board this/next week.

This schedule is too early I can see why so many people are failing to do well in classes.

I don't need to comment on how bad the new schedule is. The flaws are self evident.

Some of those who actually use their time b/c of sports and extra curricular activities deserve this time ... Don't take it from them

It's not fair that the we, the students of ladue, won't be able to have extra help when we need it.

AcLab is one of the things that keep my brothers afloat at the high school. I'll be there next year and I have a feeling I'm going to need it just as much.

Well that was a non-answer if I ever heard one.

It's not only getting rid of aclab, but the schedule now runs so smooth...why change it? No need to make things complicated.

I wish your tone wasn't so accusatory. I am not a villain and neither are the people you are accusing me of being. Anyway, I would love to continue this matter, and knowing myself, in all liklihood I will. Though I'm not sure how the powers that be would feel about me conversing with a full grown strange adult on the Internet. Like I said, I am a student, That being said, I have finals to get to. Happy holidays.

As a former Ladue student with many friends that still attend, I think this schedule will cause a lot of issues with time in classes such as art and science. The long class periods are nice.

No way! Replacing block days seriously! How do you think that will help me school. I can't be able to handle that much homework in one day this brings too much stress! You suck school!

As far as you being "well informed" that is actually a suspicion rather than a compliment. As in, how do you know so much? No one else does because they haven't bother to tell us. Not students, not parents, not teachers - the only ones who would know about the research would be those who did the research or are connected to them. So which are you?

This is your request. http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/intern-research/reports/blockschedule.pdf I am very flattered at your claim that I am an administrator or a lawyer. I aspire to become one....maybe. "Tell us who you really are." I am, as I have said, an Unimpressed Ladue Student. Please go ahead and trace my IP address. You will find that I used my student issued iPad and a school computer to post these comments. I like that you said I am "unusually well informed" for a student. This confirms that the students behind this petition are NOT informed. Your turn.

Why is such a change necessary? Our schedule is good how it is, and AcLab is very beneficial to most students at Ladue High. A new schedule is not needed!!!!
