They're well known for being unreasonable and completely non-understanding with any personal reasons for lateness - including illness. Completely unacceptable. Good luck with this mate.

These new rules are absolutely ridiculous and need to be changed.
Rules are made for the guidance of wise men and for the obedience of fools ( in this case the university have obedient to their rules like fools )

This is absolutely horrible. When my aunt died my uni gave me a 2 week extension and said I could have had longer. It's unfair for the uni to put so much pressure on people in time of grief.

how can students study when a member of there family are terminally ill or have died. consideration must be given to them as this is their future that is being disrupted

Having worked for 10 years in pastoral care for students for two universities I am shocked there isn't a more flexible approach to students and bereavement leave. Many organisations offer students in their final year multiple options to ensure they graduate with their cohort.
