Thinking of you. Its awful practice. Shows that universities are basically just a business with little care for the students. Hope it gets sorted.

2 weeks extension is the very least they could offer you, this situation is shameful. Sending you all my love & hoping this situation gets rectified very soon.

When something like this happens you need a lot more time to get your head round the issues. A simple letter to explain what has happened should be suffice until you are ready to return when you can show any evidence they require!

This is just another of Salford University's failings when it comes to it's students. I hope that this petition gives the directors some food for thought.

This is awful, so many people I know have had to face similar situations and it sickens me.

This i disgusting and conpletley unsympathetic way for any establishment to behave, universities are meant to support their students not punish them at such a great time of loss.

Wholeheartedly agree.. there should be a minimum of two weeks grace given in the circumstances of the death of a parent/partner/child/sibling.

The PMC regulations must change to accommodate an individuals personl circumstances. Not everyone fits into a box on a form. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, George, and I hope this issue is resolved for you quickly and fairly. As a former Salford Uni student I completely agree that the university needs to do more to support its students.
The way students facing tragedy are currently treated is disgraceful and hugely unsympathetic to the gravity of the situation they are facing. This needs to change.
