I nearly saw a cyclist get hit last week as cars were trying to overtake him but there wasn't enough space

Shocking! Maybe should have asked people who cycle or even drive along these roads

They have left the pavements outside dry cleaners and chip shop in a very dangerous state!

Totally agree, also all it achieves is either cars parking on the pavement too, or parking on the road making it a signal track road!

Waste of time and money. Cyclists won't use them. Not enough room for a pushchair and toddler by the side. Nor is there enough room for 2 adults to walk side by side.

whoever authorised this ridiculous idea to narrow the road in terrace road and make it even more dangerous than it was before should be sacked a total waste of money why were residents not consulted about this before about the narrowing of the road.

I do not understand why the council has introduced these shared cycle and pedestrian paths and further narrowed the roads. This is dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians and causes even more congestion on the road. What a huge waste of money !

I agree the money spent on these widening foot paths which narrows the road need to have their brains tested, the money could have been used in the hospitals caring for the elderly or even providing youth clubs for the younger generation. Instead of endangering cyclists on the road and traumatising drivers dealing with the accidents which will occur.

For those of you wondering who is responsible for this shambles, all roads seem to lead to Rachael Lake at SCC. Unfortunately she is 100% politician and 0% engineer, hence we have ended up with this appallingly unsafe scheme.

A ridiculous amount of money wasted on something that's dangerous for pedestrians, drivers and cyclists and something that won't even be used by cyclists. Congratulations.

These lanes are rediculous, terrible waste of money and dangerous to all users, particularly where they are very narrow.

The queues of traffic along Terrace Rd were bad even before this project, which has now made them even worse. A complete waste of money. No consultation to local residents.

Extremely dangerous for all concerned. We are on the Olympic cycling route so very popular with serious cyclists. It is not appropriate for them to cycle on the pavement, and would be extremely dangerous to pedestrians if they did so at any speed. Has anyone at the council tried to stop a toddler from stepping off the pavement into the road? Now we have to stop them from crossing the invisible line into the path of a speeding cyclist! I am disappointed that we as residents were not consulted. It is worse for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Terrible terrible planning and yet more evidence of poor local government
