I used the cycle path in terrace road yesterday - I was the only cyclist to do so and now I know why. It's incredibly uncomfortable cycling across dropped curbs, inconvenient having to stop at each side road and quite frankly, far too narrow and industrial to feel safe at any point. What an absolutely ridiculous waste of time and money and as a car driver as well, it has made driving along that road even more dangerous

This new cycle lane is so dangerous how on earth are you supposed to explain to a young child that you can only walk on a small part of the footpath or you will be knocked over by a cyclist! That said most cyclists are still using the road making it even harder and more dangerous to pass them on this very busy road!

As a resident of Terrace Riad I am very familiar with the volume of cyclists we have along this road. The narrowing of the roads has increased the issues with cyclists who never use the new cycle paths. A ridiculous waste of money.

Bikes don't even ride on the path and not only that say a kid runs or falls over the bike will hurt them and also where are the railings gone they help parents with kids who have the habit of running out well thanks cos the kids have got the road to run onto with no protection.
Also bike ride is coming up why shut the roads as they are meant to use the path your Idea ain't it

They are dangerous to both pedestrians and cyclist alike . It used to be an offence to cycle on the pavement ,for that very reason, the danger has not gone away!!!!

Happy to join this! It is insane and, only a matter of time until someone gets injured by a bike on the pavement or, a cyclist gets injured by a car trying to pass on the narrow roads.

This has made the road very dangerous indeed. There have been so many fatal accidents on that road. Widening the pavement will only cause more. How in the world did the council feel it would be appropriate to widen the pavement on a highly populated pavement that used by buggies, small children and parents route to many primary schools & nurserys. Bikes sharing the same pavement as pedestrian will cause more accidents, many bikers will be cycling at speed as they do on the road? It's hard enough educating young children about the road but now having to constantly remind them about the cyclist too. The road is so narrow now that cyclist are holding up the traffic as you are unable to overtake also you can no longer use the filter lanes that turn left and right? Was this actually I well thought proposal? It's a great idea in the Walton town centre to widen the pavement for pedestrians but not bikes. Also the quality of the workmanship isn't great the pavement is bumpy and hadn't been finished to a high standard at all.

At least it matches Walton Bridge which also has too narrow a road and too wide pavements.

The road has been made far too narrow for a car to fit on meaning your car has to go into the lane next to the inside lane. Cyclists don't even use the path provided

Absolutely pointless exercise and total waste of tax payers money. Made such a mess of all the streets and the traffic lights and crossings are quite frankly a joke !

I also find the new lanes leading from fordbridge roundabout to the bridge to be just as bad. I thought it was just me until I saw this petition. Please do something about it.

I can't believe how poorly thought out, not too mention a terrible waste of money this "new improved" path is.

Ridiculous. It cost a fortune and has simply made Terrace Road too narrow, even more congested and dangerous for everyone. All the locals saw this coming ...
