New pavements/cycle lanes in Walton on Thames are DANGEROUS!!!

Widening of the pavements is ridiculous. Cyclists still use the road. So much more dangerous!

I drive on that road 2-4 times a day and up until yesterday I hadn't seen 1 cyclist use the pavement. What a complete waste of money when you think of all the roads that are badly pitted and need replacement. The narrower roads are causing more congestion than ever before. What was the council thinking.

Cars can't over take cyclist which are still using road and how many children are gonna get hurt on pavement by the one who will use it they cycle next to each other on the road as it and how fast they gonna go on pavement must be a man that thought this stupid idea up what a waste it tax payers money

Cycle paths will never be used due to side roads. If they are, why should we have to walk in the same lane where fast bikes are cycling? It's dangerous for everyone. Bikes belong on the road.

Dangerous pavement/cycle lanes. As a cyclist I refuse to use those pavement lanes as I ride too fast and am terrified of hitting a pedestrian. Especially in the morning when the schools are going in. And you have to slow down every 100 yards or so to cross a side street. The curbs aren't dropped enough to use without damaging your tyres too. I will definitely sign, but they won't do anything about it because they have just paid to have all that work done. They won't pay again

No room to manoeuvre when exiting side roads into oncoming traffic.My daughter uses a disabled scooter and is in fear every time she goes out along Terrace Road.I have yet to see a cyclist using these cycle lanes!

It doesn't help that most of the cyclists i have seen still use the road anyway making the lanes pointless. The narrower road is far from ideal for both cyclists and motorists, all it takes is one parked car and a lorry to cause chaos and traffic jams all the way through Walton! Ridiculous waste of tax payers money

This has made it more dangerous to cycle, drive or walk along Terrace Road than it was before.

Any fool can see this will not work. All you have done is make the main road through Walton a narrow dangerous road

What an ill thought through, ill conceived idea. Road cyclists will never use it, the traffic is now backed up to the excel roundabout most weekends due to narrow lanes and the delineation between pedestrian and cycle path is awful, some places are wider than others and people will get hurt. Appalling planning and a total waste of money.

I don't have a problem with the smaller width of the road. Perhaps even better would be to give penalty fines to the cyclists who don't use the cycle lanes. These have been put in for their protection and if they don't use it they should answer just as we do if we don't park and do our pay and display.

It's rediculous that all this money been piled into the cycle lanes yet cyclist refuse to use them. Weekends expecially are so dangerous as cyclists are cycling side by side blocking whole Road. It's impossible to over take safely now as roads to narrow. If this is to stay then it needs to be enforced that cyclists use them before a serious accident happens.
