Cyclists do not use the new cycle lane and never will. Complete and utter waste of money and very dangerous for all road users.

Residents on Terrace road and adjoining roads were not consulted about this, we just woke up to find roadworks blocking our exit/entry which we've had to live with for months. Eventually signs went up saying work would be done by Jan 2015....these got replaced with signs saying it would be done by July 2015....work still continues.... There has already been one accident involving a cyclist and van at Cambridge road due to the exact reason stated in this petition- There will be many more now. The narrowing of Tithe close entry now makes it impossible for 2 cars to enter/exist at the same time it is so narrow, and there will be a crash there soon too -again probably involving a cyclist. Furthermore, a new zebra crossing has been put in place opposite grovelands school, near the excel roundabout, which although a good idea has been poorly considered and is now significantly dangerous for pedestrians (and anyone that actual does use the new cycle path) since cars drive that road at 40mph + (after doing 40mph on hurst road and seemingly not realising it changes to 30mph) , and they NEVER stop for the new crossing once a pedestrian is on it. This is exasperated by the narrow roads now- we are going to see a child fatality there in the future. Awful decision making, lack of consultation, and poor execution of this project.

Whoever came up with this hairbrained cycle path idea should be made accountable after all the cost and traffic queues incurred in its implementation. The roads are now dangerous for both cyclists and motorists as the cycle lanes are not fit for purpose. I use the road every day and am dismayed by the number of cyclists still using the road. I rarely see any cyclists on the pathway.

Whoever agreed to these plans obviously don't use these roads! Absolute waste of money!

Totally ridiculous idea. Very dangerous for everyone now. Really needs to be put back to how it was before a serious accident occurs.

Completely ludicrous idea. Did the planner(s) really believe that cyclists, especially with road bikes are going to wobble down a widened pavement with lowered driveways and roads every other step? Would love some explanations about how and why this idea was even considered, let alone implemented...

The cyclists do not use the new cycle paths and should be fined for not doing so in my opinion

I live off of Terrace Road, so I can really see the difference. When someone is killed it will be too late. Sort this out now. Life's can not be replaced. I would like to know who agreed to the works. I understand cyclists need to be safe but at what cost?

Once again bureaucracy not listening to the people! But where were the health and safety bods when this was planned. It's so dangerous and completely pathetic.

Totally agree, both pedestrians and cyclists far more in danger, club cycling on the weekends will never use the footpath, to slow and dangerous, cars cannot turn out of side roads nor the busses at the high street

I just don't understand why tax payers have paid to make the road more dangerous for cyclists motorists and pedestrians

Trying to turn out of Cambridge rd is a nightmare, its to narrow. How are emergency vehicles getting through traffic, there's no where to pull over the curbs would damage your car if you tried.

My parents live on terrace road and my mother is disabled. To get her to the car in a wheelchair is causing considerable traffic problems and means we are on the cycle path whilst transferring from wheelchair to car .
