And all the safety fences have gone in the town centre that money should have gone on the potholes around Walton and making the roads safer SCC you have got it all wrong

A disgraceful waste of money which could be better spent elsewhere. Unbelievable whoever sanctioned this project. Since the work has finished I have yet to see a 'leisure' cyclist use the 'path'. Road cyclists/club cyclists and commuter cyclists will never use the paths - what was the council thinking here - very shortsighted of them! Incredibly dangerous road situation now.

Why are these buffoons not monitored more closely?
Surely someone could have pointed out how stupid and dangerous the idea was before they wasted our money on it!!!

what a waste of tax money. scc are a bunch of retards. I work along terrace road and the cyclists refuse to use the pavement and since this work began you have made walton a misery to live in. im constantly seeing cyclists and drivers arguing over this and it wont be long before some one gets hurt due to and argument .

This was a completely crazy idea - I have not seen ONE cyclist use the new cycle lane on the pavement, probably because of the bumpy ride over everyone's drop curbs! In fact, I was stuck behind a cyclist on the road on my journey home just now and couldn't get round him because the road is now so ridiculously narrow! The Terrace Road is now an absolute joke - whoever it was that authorised for this work to go ahead needs to lose their job!

I don't cycle on the path because I have to stop to cross all of the side roads whereas if I stay on the road I have right of way instead. Plus, even though it's supposed to be for cyclists, pedestrians don't care and walk in the cycle half, especially a family or group who take up the whole path. Overall it was a massive and expensive waste of time and whoever signed off on the idea has no business being in control of anything other than a colouring book and a packet of crayons.

Up to this point i have never seen what i would call the pro cyclists use the new track. Why would they when there are pedestrians using it as well and they cannot go at the speed they would want to.

I don't have a particularly large car but when trying to enter or exit Dudley rd where I live and where the unity hire shop customers park right up and on the white lanes makes entering Dudley rd effectively single lane traffic -as nobody can get in or out of it. So I sit and wait in terrace rd Often for 2/3 minutes to enter the rd with traffic backing up and blocking terrace rd!!! One of the main reasons we have decided to move out of Surrey altogether!

As a pedestrian walking on the pavement now in the designated side of the pavement I'm constantly being scratched by overgrown bushes and trees. I have not seen 1 cyclist using the footpath and they are still riding next to each other on the road making traffic at school times a nightmare

i agree. The new roads are dangerously narrow especially when pulling out on to terrace road. I have seen countless cyclists still using road so no use to anyone .

As a resident on terrace road, it has caused nothing but chaos for all. Several times we have gone to walk out of our gate and nearly been hit by a cyclist. Not to mention the parking and build up of traffic if anyone does park on the road. I've seen. Many more angry motorists since this has been put ins

the new road layout is shocking. My other half cycles, and even he has said how badly it has been designed. I'm sure, if the 'powers that be' had consulted the public and done a bit of research on the area they would have saved theirselves, and us., the public, a lot of hassle and money-and ultimately put less lives in danger.

the junction at Sandy Lane by Grovelands School has been narrowed even more so cars have to swing out to the side of the oncoming traffic. It was bad enough before but now it's very dangerous..!!!. Cyclists are not using the "cycle paths" that have been put on the pavements and are still using the roads. Total waste of money and resource!!,

As a cyclist the new junction is an accident waiting to happen especially as they have taken the rails away by carpet right, card shop, opticians and fleur. The old people will not be able to move back from the edge quick enough if a lorry comes round and having seen them drive over the pavement with no due care we will have a fatality on our hands soon. As for the money they have spent the whole area is uneven totally wasted especially as roads like Sidney Road, Bowes Road, Station avenue have vast pot holes in this money could have been put to better use. Don't even get me started on council services for young and old that could have been helped with this money.
