A complete waste of money and extremely dangerous for drivers, pedistrans and cyclists! What were they thinking.

The roads are so narrow already, I don't drive, but right now I'm doing lessons and going down that road puts me on edge enough as it is! These roads are not right now a bike lane and whoever thought they were clearly don't know anything about health and safty!

A truely awful decision to widen the pavements for the cyclists. They won't use them as they have to stop at every side road junction. Great for pedestrians but that's it. The roads are much too narrow now. Are there going to be double yellow lines now for no parking too? Whats happening at the crossraods in the high street too as there is not now enough room to turn right outside of Waitrose. Complete waste of money all round.

I am a resident of Terrace Road. Since these cycle paths have been built the road is a nightmare. We already have increased traffic in this area and now we have to put up with narrower roads too. The only cyclists I've seen use this path so far are young children, who would have ridden on the path anyway, everyone else rides on the road and you can't get past them. The junction outside Carpetright is a joke, you only have to get a larger vehicle turning into the High Street and no one in the left hand lane can move. When you finally do move you get the delivery lorry outside the Regent that no one can pass. This won't reduce accidents it will make them more likely to happen due to frustrated motorists who sit behind packs of club cyclists unable to move and who are only too aware of the frustrations of other drivers behind them. You talk about consultation, we'll no one I know knew anything about them till we saw the notices of the work happening started going up. Stupid idea, put it back to how it was.

A ludicrous waste of taxpayers money and very possibly a huge waste of someone's life! What do these planners get paid for a child could have seen this coming!

Someone will get hurt, probably a small child or elderly person. Don't know what they were thinking of when they did this.

I agree with the statement. It is a really silly Idea. Perhaps the council should have travelled to the Nederland's where they know how to deal with Cars/Bike and pedestrians. Cambridge Road and surrounding street and pavements are a pedestrians nightmare a bit of our council tax money spend there might be a VERY good idea!!!

Totally agree with what has been said in this letter...cyclists should now be fined if they do not use the cycle path provided by us tax payers...

Takes ages to get a pram up from the curb, cyclists have no respect for pedestrians so therefore should remain on the road and it's all just a big accident waiting to happen

It is VERY dangerous and ineffectual as cyclists still use the narrowed road, as too many dropped kerbs

Has slowed traffic to a crawl and eventual standstill. Cyclists don't want to or can't use it, and there is no safe way to overtake.

Any idiot could see this wouldnt work...seriously what are the bikes supposed to do at the lights , run over the people waiting....somebody needs to be fired because it's moronic...could of just put a bike lane in but nope , now bikes ride on the tiny roads.

I regularly wall the terrace road route and I've never seen anyone use the cycle path. The road is now dangerously narrow and comes to a standstill with delivery lorries parked in the road. The pavements have provided nothing more than additional parking for residence along the road. Dangerous to pull out of side roads and the pedestrian crossings in the high street are a shambles as they are set back from the road and in the path of cyclists. What happens to the poor people with disabilities and poor eyesight. Absolute shambles and total waste of money.

Ridiculous idea. Poorly thought out and badly executed. Typical council decision.
