This scheme will result in pedestrians and cyclists being seriously injured or worse. A complete waste of money.

The dual paths are to narrow got a bike and a baby buggy in a lot of the areas esp heading from Grovelands school towards the co-op.. Disgusting waste of tax payers money

The whole scheme is clearly dangerous and looks a bad deal for pedestrians as well. I am a cyclist and will stick to the road rather than navigate this obstacle course.

Clearly no one at SCC thought this through, or lived close enough to understand why this hasn't worked. Terrible waste of money which has created new problems for cyclists and drivers.

In Barcelona the cycle lanes are separated from the main part of the road by small raised bollards. The cyclists can't veer into the path of the cars & the cars can't knock the cyclists over. Makes much more sense. And what on earth is happening at the end of the High St outside the carpet shop. There is no longer enough room for 2 lanes, causing an already busy junction to be even more congested. The whole thing is madness!

Completely agree. Also pulling out the side roads is as rightly said now very dangerous. Surely a project having such a dramatic effect on our local area should have involved consultation with residents?

I agree

I believe it would have been cheaper...easier....and safer to paint a cycle lane in the road. Now both the path and road are hazardous to all.

The idea is madness. Return it to a proper road.

They are awful. I live in terrace road and so many accidents are going to occur and why haven't you fixed the roads first

I have to use Terrace road every day and its a knightmare so narrow now and 9 times out of 10 the cyclists are using the road and not the path. I have been in 2 near misses since it was altered both involving a car on the other side of the road overtaking a cyclist this is so dangerous to both car drivers and the cyclists.

As a cyclist I am now getting abuse from pedestrians when on the cycle lane and abuse from drivers when I use the road. I have had 3 cars reverse from their drive and not seen me on the cycle path and I have nearly run over a child coming out of its house, not to mention the buckled wheel from the badly finished dropped curbs so please put a cycle lane on the road where it belongs and the roads back how they were. Thank you

The cycle pathways are probably the most stupid on the planet. Why was there no consultation? How are the disabled expected to get on with them? I am a dedicated cyclist and driver and pedestrian. The roads are a nightmare - there are roads in Walton in desperate need of serious repair. Politicians have promised Cottimore Lane and Stuart Avenue would get done. The new cycle paths are dangerous and silly. They aren't actually fit for use because already the bushes and hedges are growing across them, they aren't level, and you are actually going to wreck your bike trying to get up them because some clever dick forgot to drop the curbs. I struggle with a pushchair, how is someone on a Zimmer frame or mobility scooter going to get on? How are cyclists supposed to use them at night when they turn into car parks? The irony is that they built Walton Bridge to alleviate traffic problems and then in the next step create traffic issues that are ugly, stupid, dangerous and unwanted. We need less discrimination against cyclists and more people power to get SCC to spend our hard earned money to benefit us. No more vanity projects!!!!

What a farce!! Who commissioned the works in the first place? I'm sure they knew someone in the road construction business!
