I am an extremely concerned service industry worker in the French Quarter.

The last thing the hard pressed and underpaid workers of the French Quarter need is higher flat taxes in the form of increased parking fees.

it's beginning to get unbearable to work in the quarter or even try to get into the quarter or CBD with all the construction that get started and never is finished.the working citizens have to pay for parking pay to get vehicles repair after criminals vandalize them and we walked with guns for our own safety. Looks like the city would worry about things like that first. instead of paying more parking meter maids to walk around writing more ticket for money that goes unseen unbelievable only city in the world like this.

I work in the Fq. This is not a helpful plan for us. Please reconsider.

You won't be hurting tourists who ride taxis, streetcars, and buses. You are hurting working people who need to use meters while shopping/working to support our city. I'll take my tax dollars to other parishes before I pay to park after 6pm.

Instead of adding hours & raising rates, why not look at what loading zones could be turned into metered parking areas. There are several loading zones around the quarter for business that no longer exist or hotel zones where hotels are no longer there.

Why is City Hall trying to make it even more economically challenging for the very people who are on the frontline of making this city a world-class tourist destination?

Please don't do this. Isn't it difficult enough trying to make a living in this city without these kinds of back-breaking measures?

Stop making life harder for the people who live here.

The majority of residents in N.O. can't afford the higher rents, taxes, food costs that are plaguing our city. Keep parking rates low.

Just dumb. Go promote the city and bring in jobs, not drain people for parking.

It will be a tide that raises all prices. Garages and lots will charge more knowing the struggle of parking meters.

David , please share this with construction workers and tell them to contact city hall as well.

The rise in parking fees will affect construction workers too.

Musicians are as valuable to the work force as workers in any other industry. It's already difficult to make a living in an industry that continuously minimizes our contributions.

I own my own business and have to park at a meter by my shop. Please don't raise the price for parking, i pay enough already.
