In addition, there should be parking options for musicians and service industry people in the quarter and frencmen street

This is the worst idea ever! Service industry people have a hard enough time as it is. Parking garage contracts are over priced as it is. Now this?!

Please, Mitch, stop raping the people who trusted your heritage and policy enough to elect you in the first place. Show flyers stripped off telephone poles, the noise ordinance, the building along the riverfront that's going to destroy the culture of the marigny and bywater with "The Full Effect of the Law", and now fining the working class for parking while they work to keep the money we all make flowing into our town? When is enough enough? Your legacy is about to ride into history with Jindal, what are you doing to us? Let us please have an honest, equitable discussion between those who make and enforce these laws and those whom it truly affects. Let us please compromise and use our collective intelligence, desire to make money, and love for this city to figure out other ways to generate revenue. Sincerely, Alfred Thomas Small

This city takes enough of our money as it is already. I'd sure love to know where all the money is going from all the parking meters, tickets, boots, and tows. STOP BEING GREEDY...NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF CROOKS!

Tax the rich & keep the working poor out of getting ripped off at every turn! This city is too expensive for the meager incomes we make!

An increase in rates and hours will push locals like myself and my husband out of the quarter. We will go down there a lot less.

I am a fairly new resident to New Orleans (4 months), and I've already been towed once...it is nearly impossible to obtain a parking permit even as a resident (the amount of hoops to jump through is absurd) and now this?! Do you not want the citizens who LIVE in the French Quarter to be able to park near their homes?! As you know it's not the safest city, and to have to park outside of the Quarter and walk home late at night or very early in the morning in some cases depending on the person's schedule is just dangerous. Shame on you.

This pay increase will only take more for parking from those who WORK in the Quarter and who must drive and park there in order to do so. This is an absurdly high increase in an already high rate of parking. By factoring in what I would have to pay for parking, I will end up working for less than minimum wage, which is insane. Tourists will not be affected by this change; tourists park in the lots or hotel garages. It's the WORKERS who will be negatively impacted by this ridiculous increase. Additionally, the meters in the Quarter are often broken, which makes this proposition even more absurd. Frankly, it's an insult to anyone who WORKS in the French Quarter.

As a working class citizen, I feel like I pay my taxes and give to the city of New Orleans significantly. There should NOT be an increase an hours.

All service employees should be provided with free parking while working.
