This only effects the workers in the city. This is unfair punishment and unsafe to cause people to constantly run out to pay the meter. Not to mention, people don't always get the five minutes off work to pay the meter in the first place.

I really do not like to come to New Orleans, even tho I do to work, play, and go to many events and do a lot of volunteer work and buying there. Parking is very prohibitive and I have already missed a lot due to parking as is today and if this goes up you can almost run me off. I am a regular native, Guest, and Tourist, and nothing keeps me away from New Orleans like the Parking does. Is Mayor wanting to chase people like us off? This is a move to keep middle class and working poor away from vacationing and enjoying New Orleans.

This is unconscionable. You are effectively punishing the working class.

Raising the rates to this level is inconceivable, and without necessity. New Orleanians paid for the streets and while paying reasonable fees for short-term parking makes sense to assure fairness and access to parking for everyone, the new fee schedule is regressive and punitive. There are reasons why the Mayor wishes to do this and I wish someone would come clean about why this action is being done.

This is greedy and despicable, an insult to all of us. A lot of this money goes to an out-of-state contractor and increasing the hours to 10 p.m. is a slap in the face to those who work in the evening.

Musicians, especially, should have SPECIAL parking privileges, not higher fees to park for their gigs.

Yes, And they need to fix misplaced signs= that cause legally parked cars yo be violated because they are placed in wrong places: I.e. telephone poles: because it's easier for them, altering the meters, paint and correct defined distances etc.

myself and my wife come to the French Qutater every year and stay about a week pay for parking and even have had to pay a parking fine that wasn't fair. The city needs the tourists and the workers to be there you can't charge ppl who are there earning money a fortune in parking every day! Might as well close the city like after Katrina and say we're out of business. How long do you think you can line your pockets then??

Many meters don't even function. One time I arrived at my car with 2 minutes to spare and found a metermaid waiting for my ticket to expire.

Do not raise the prices.
