In Macclesfield, many parents and I feel that our community is at a crucial juncture. Our beloved children's and baby library charity holds immense potential to be a cornerstone of community support and engagement. Through personal experiences and shared stories, I've witnessed the challenges faced by this charity first-hand. Its inadequate leadership has not only fallen short of tapping into its full potential to aid families and children, but has also risked fragmenting the sense of community we cherish in Macclesfield. We need proactive and innovative leadership that resonates with the needs and aspirations of the local community, ensuring this charity truly becomes a beacon of hope and unity.
Supporting this initiative means investing in our children's future and the community's strength. It's our responsibility to step up and advocate for change, ensuring the charity is managed efficiently and effectively. By appointing a compassionate, skilled leader who understands the community's unique needs, we can transform this library into a thriving hub for education, entertainment, and community support.
To achieve this, we propose initiating a transparent recruitment process involving community input to identify candidates with proven track records in nonprofit management, a strong connection to community values, and a vision for sustainable growth.

Asked for help, was met with a nasty post aimed about me saying I didn’t deserve it… shannon uses donations as a power trip. This isn’t charity. A change in management is needed.
I do not feel that I can approach the baby library as I’ve seen how others have been spoke to and treated this is not a personal assault on who is responsible for it now it’s a fact that it is not being ran properly and considering people donate in good faith hoping it will go to anyone that needs it no one should be made to feel bad or unworthy of receiving things they need
Poverty isn’t just about those who won’t/can’t work. This should be about helping the whole community and not judging people or being rude to people
The current manager is rude, I have experienced this and I currently stay away even though I'm expecting a baby soon and don't have all I need. Respect is crucial
I disagree with the temperament displayed towards people in vulnerable situations from this charity. Not everyone discloses their every struggle in a conversation when they meet organisers or volunteers or even their friends. So I believe people in positions of this kind should always be kind and compassionately understanding.
As a very local business we have donated a lot of cash and toys to this so called charity but no more. I’ve heard too many things about this place and I won’t support anymore. The Christmas appeal is an absolute farce. Shannon picks and chooses the people she wants where the real people who are struggling don’t even get a look in. I’ve seen with my own eyes messages from her to a parent of a child she promised to help. Christmas Eve the parent messaged asking when the gift was going to be dropped off to them but very bluntly told her child didn’t have a gift as she’d forgotten and because the parent didn’t message her sooner when she’d just put a post up saying who is without a gift so basically blaming the parent which is bang out of order that poor child had nothing Christmas Day because Mum was in such a bad place !!!! How any human can do this is beyond me it’s pure evil and to then show no remorse!!! I’d also like to add mum had asked for a £10 gift she was told that was the limit then she sees children being gifted £200+ I’ve no words !!! Alongside Christmas gifts she then gifts the same families spinning chairs £200+ when they get enough handouts from the government which lots don’t get paid to care for their own children. This place actually needs closing as it’s just a convenience for Shannon and her friends and the real families don’t get a look in. Not all families have social workers some struggle alone as they have pride and don’t need social workers. They don’t have any help or family those are the ones truly in need of help and compassion never getting Mother’s Day gifts or birthday presents through no fault of their own. How can a single mum cope it’s going to cause MH. Families that choose to have multiple children then want hand outs !!! Stop having children you clearly can’t afford and expect other people to cloth and feed your children. Our help will now be used in a very different manner moving forward to those that really do need it not thos
This woman is toxic and not nice to be around She’s Constantly Needing Attention me me me it’s endless bigs herself up attention seeking post on the Facebook page not sure how old she is but she’s acting like a 12-year-old. She : Lies Gaslights Plays the Victim Disrespectful Doesn’t respect Boundaries Very judgemental latitude, not sure why ! Has a very high opinion of herself which is rather comical from people who know her !! Claims she knows everyone in Macc that’s a very big statement NO SHE DOES NOT Those that do know her not many like her just tolerate her. I’d be so ashamed to be her mother or child

Was rude to me when we asked for a car seat she said the baby was too big for the one she was in made a scene asking people to agree with her . Left when she asked what we were swapping, we were going to donate but her attitude made us feel uncomfortable and we left with her shouting in the background
