The whole issue, caused by some sort of chain effects, is a biggest joke created by some irresponsible gov officials. As a parent of st. nic sec 2 girl, I'm speechless of the way moe described the whole situation n the easy "solution" offered. I can imagine 18mth later, my girl n I wake up at 5am, instead of current 6.15am, dragging ourself to school n work. Well, I must work even harder to pay more income tax to those officials who will then draw higher salary n bonus than now for sure. I know I don't have a choice, I can't even get those idiots fired, I can only wait for the next election... No one can change my mind unless the irresponsible gov officials in charge are really "charged" for not doing what they're paid to do and recovery plan put in place for what parents n our children deserve.

I believe there is still enough time to complete the new school for them. Still got 18 months!

321 Braddell Rd, Singapore 579708, can be a temporary holding site for the school. Have MOE Consider it properly before selecting Mount Sinai?? MOE do consider all nearer options before shifting our child to place so far.

Dear PM Lee, I am a parent of CHS. We have no choice but to turn to you for help. Please relook into the case and help to expedite the completion of the new IP. Thousands of students of 2 cohorts from the 3 schools are affected. They will not get to see their new JC as promised. Furthermore they are made to travel to campus in Mt Sinai which is unacceptable to many pupils & parents due to the long distance. Travelling time will be doubled as compared to their secondary schools. If MOE remains status quo, MOE would have lose her trust and credibility with all the pupils and parents. MOE's reputation would be ruined. A good name is more precious than great riches. It will affect the trust that other countries have in our education system too! When problem crops up, instead of taking responsibility for it, MOE dealt with us high-handedly. A good leader will take responsibility of the mistakes made. MOE should apologise and be more transparent about the matter. They should be courageous to hold a dialogue with the agencies involved namely the LTA, URA together with the 3 schools to explore the options and be transparent and answerable to the parents. Worse still, our children, the future leaders of our nation, will pick up this wrong way of handling problems. They will learn that when mistakes are made, let's try to cover up and there is no need to own up to the mistakes made. Is this the kind of value that we want to pass down to our young? Furthermore when the building of the new JC is delayed to end 2019, the intake of the IP pupils in the 3 schools will be greatly affected. And this IP project which is so precious to the 3 schools, will be sabotaged as no one will choose it knowing that it's JC is not built. Please relook into the matter. It has great consequences. I am a parent of a St Nicholas Girls Secondary (SNGS) student. The principal of SNGS, Mrs Tan Wai Lan and the principal of the yet to be named JC, Mrs Wong Mei Heng briefed the parents of the affected students in mid April. I would like to sincerely thank the principals for their time and effort in briefing us. I would like to commend Mrs Wong for briefing the 3 sets of parents at Singapore Chinese Girls School (SCGS), Catholic High School (CHS) and SNGS. I urge Mrs Wong and the 3 principals of the secondary schools to remain fully focused on 1) guiding the IP students from the 3 schools to the new JC 2) developing a quality curriculum leading to A levels and 3) establishing the new JC firmly as a premier JC in Singapore. These should be the top priorities of the Principals and teachers. This infrastructure issue of both the change of temporary holding site and the delay of completion of the new JC building at Sin Ming should be handled by the Ministry of Education (MOE) infrastructure and Projects division and LTA. Principals and teachers of the new JC and the 3 schools should remain focussed on their primary task of educating our children. I urge the MOE and LTA to conduct a joint forum with the parents of the 3 affected schools. The current mode of communication via letters from MOE to parents, letters from affected parents to Straits Times and emails from parents is not appropriate as it does not allow for proper 2 way communication. This was a draft letter which I have wanted to send via email to relevant authorities but since there is this petition now, I will upload it here and wait a while before sending it (if still necessary) to the relevant authorities.

Dear Sir/ Mdm, In my opinion, this is not an act of "wu li qu nao". This is a serious issue concerning the future of the IP stream for SCGS, SNGS and CHS students. The holding site is indeed at an isolated area which will bring about much inconvenience to the IP cohort. The parents and students are all here to voice out their concerns for their children or their own future. We are all here in hope for a better change and not creating unnecessary noise just for the sake of it. I sincerely seek your kind understanding and would like for you to refrain from making such comments. Thank you.

Dear PM Lee, I am a Year 3 student in the Integrated Programme stream. When the bad news was released to us, I was very shocked and disappointed. The holding campus being changed from the Bishan ITE to the old RJC campus has brought along many detrimental impacts on the students of the IP stream. Firstly, although I am confident that our government will be able to provide us with a good quality education at the holding site, the location of the holding site has been a large concern for me. For many of those living in the north area, having a campus in Mount Sinai would cause much inconvenience for many living more than an hour away from it. The daily travel time will be exhausting and will have negative impacts on our health due to the inevitable lack of sleep. Secondly, as brought up by many, the holding site is located in an isolated area. With remedials, CCAs and many other commitments, it is unavoidable for students to have to return home late. I am much concerned for the safety of us students as we walk in such a quite area. Without a doubt, Singapore is a safe country but I must highlight with all due respect that a low crime rate does not mean there is no crime at all. Especially in such an isolated place, I am worried for the safety of my IP counterparts and I. Lastly, I sincerely wish that we will be able to get our promised campus or at least a holding site with a safer and more convenient location. I hope that the government will be able to understand our concerns and will be willing to invest some time and effort into allowing us to be able to experience a good quality and safe JC experience. Parents of Catholic, MT Sinai is neatly too far for Yishun residents , 2 way return trips waste 3 hrs .My concern will fall sick easily and can't do well on academic .

The JC team has already told us that it's impossible to get the campus ready, so parents being unrelenting certainly doesn't help the situation.

Dear PM, We stay in Woodlands and do not own a car. My boy got into CHS IP Yr3 by his own merits. Is the Gov. and MOE going to ignore outlier families like ours when your officials living in ivory towers force the move to Mt Sinai, when you have committed that every deserving child will be given the best education available? What are the practical options made available to us and our child? Your officials have simply lost touch with the grounds or have chosen to turn a blind eye to the severely adverse impact on the lives of many 'outlier families' in the society.

I agree that it should complete earlier as I, as a secondary 1 student, hope that I can enjoy my Junior College life fully without having to move from one place to another.Thank you for Mr Andrew for creating this petition too, so that we can voice out.
