our state needs this! Ag education has been declining since my kids were involved in it in the 1990's.

NH has only three days worth of food on the shelves at any given time. Our farmers are aging. Training young people to grow food is a matter of utmost security for our state.

In behalf of Cooperative Extension School Garden Initiative, I support this bill. We are bringing growing experiences to New Hampshire students through garden experiences. The younger the student, the more excited they are about growing. Schools frequently cannot provide funding to set up a gardening program, especially schools serving low socio-econimic students. These are the students that benefit most from a school gardening experience.

It is importqant for us t fund Agriculture in the classroom. Our kids, who are so far removed from the farm, need to understand were there food comes from and what it takes to produce it.

As a former ag student and NH State FFA officer, I can not even start to tell you how much agriculture education and the FFA has helped me.
