It’s disheartening that this petition has to be started in the first place. I urge the Board of Directors to listen to the will of the public and hire Michelle. I also urge the Board of Directors to apologize for their unprofessional conduct as evidenced by their lack of dialogue and lack consideration of a clearly qualified, well-respected candidate.

Michelle works hard. I've gotten to know her through taking my children to story time. I couldn't think of a better person for this job. She's always helping the children and adults too. Always knows the answer to every question. She does it with a smile on her face.

As a former student, Michelle was diligent, hard-working, and focused. She is qualified for the position and would be an amazing local director. Please, give her a fair evaluation and reconsider her the position.

Since finding out that Michelle applied for the director position I had been extremely excited for the opportunity to work with her and see where our library system could go. Please reconsider her application.

This job should have been Michelle’s to begin with. It is disheartening that a clearly qualified (local) candidate was so egregiously slighted. Please correct this poorly handled situation and give Michelle the job she deserves.

The board is missing the perfect opportunity to have a well educated and experienced hometown director. And based only on 1/2 a year of lacking experience? I'm not sure of the specifics, but based on the timeline so far, she'll have the 5 years by the time a decision is made.
Michelle is always warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and goes out of her way with children's events and information assistance even when she's away from the library. Who wouldn't want to lock that kind of employee in until retirement - especially for a retirement that is far into the future.
