Please keep the times the way they are. Changing them won’t make any difference

With two working parents, this timing is going to significantly cut back on the time we spend with them, not to mention impact their sleep. There must be a more moderate solution!

I am completely against the change... as an educator and a parent. I have three children in three different schools. I make sure my children are in bed at a decent time, technology off and getting adequate sleep. I don't over program them either which allows them to have time to breathe during the week and on the weekends. Changing the times will disrupt many families on many levels. My high schooler along with many other teens are completely against this change. Their comment is, "School will begin later and students will go to bed later." Defeating the purpose but sadly this is indeed what will happen.

Taking sleep from one group of kids to give to another makes no sense. Do better.

As the girls uce hockey coach at New Canaan High School, the proposed time change would be a major blow to getting ice time for the girls. Starting an hour or more later at achool means our whole afterschool ice achedule would most likely decrease. With four high school teams and various age groups for the local travel teams battling for ice, losing the 2.40 practice timed each day would be disastrous!!!

My family would like the high school schedule to remain the same, starting at 7:30 and ending at 2:05

It would be miserable for athletes. Kids will be up later at night doing homework

No early start!!! My kids have a tough time as it is with the 9:05 start. A reasonable time change change like an 8:30 start is feasible —. An 80 minute earlier start time is not practical or reasonable!

There has to be a solution that allows young elementary school aged children to begin school after 8:00am and have older children responsible to getting the sleep needed to start school at their timing while also accounting for the schedules of working families. I don’t feel my Kindergarten aged child should be outside waiting for the bus at 7:20 and be awake significantly earlier than they are today. That would require waking my children with an alarm and rushing them out the door, sometimes when the sun is barely up.

Please leave times as they are. Save lots of money!! With kids who have after school activities the new times would mean they get home even later. I agree with everyone else.

The kids don't want the change. The surveys all done by the District were clear - keep it the same. We need to LOWER spending. We haven't even hit the next recession.
