I have spent the last few days drafting a formal letter to the provincial finance office to outline our specific concerns regarding the proposed tax credit changes. Several local news outlets have reached out for comment and I am currently coordinating interviews to ensure our position remains clear. Further updates will follow once I receive a formal acknowledgement of our correspondence.

Tuition rebate needs to stay. I am sure the government will find a way to make sure very few low income families get this free tuition but will have eliminated the tuition rebate. Politician's slight of hand!
My son started university with hopes of using this rebate. With this gone he has nothing, since he is not eligible for free tuition. Perhaps the government should look at ways to help all students not just a select group. Lower tuition and offer more bursaries based on income, but still keep Tuition Rebate program.
My daughter is currently in year 3 of the nursing program in Moncton. She will NOT benefit one bit from this "free" education and neither will we!! Bring back the tuition tax credit!! Would be really nice to catch a break on something...........as middle class folks, we never seem to catch a break on anything - something has got to give!!
This is so unfair to hard working families who make sacrifices to pay for their children's education. Keep the tax credit. We are choosing to pay for our own children's education and I don't regret that. But don't make us pay for everyone else's now too by giving away our tax credit.
Soon there are going to be to classes the rich and the poor. The middle class can't keep up if you continue to remove the supports that help them like the tuition tax credit. This gives money back so they can continue with their education.
Although the idea may be helpful to a small group of people, the tuition rebate program of the past encouraged all graduates to remain in the province and helped relieve their debt load. Our province should bring back the rebate program and actively pursue companies to invest in NB. If students a can secure jobs in the province, they will spend their money here so it is a win/win situation for all. This new program will not keep graduates here.
We have sacrificed a lot to help our children get their education. Losing the tax credit is a slap in the face to the people whose taxes will fund the new program

The tuition tax credit was one of the reasons I moved from NS to NB for work. With it being gone, so is the incentive to stay in NB. We need a program that keeps new grads in NB, not just educates them.
