New 90' Baseball Diamond At Hereford Middle School

This field is definitely needed and long overdue.

Our kids need a 90' field, please spend some of our tax dollars for this field.

This is a community need. We lose families yearly to other programs with better facilities, or some just drop baseball entirely. Our practice facility at HMS last year was useless for practicing fielding. In games players are blindsided by how a 90-ft diamond plays, because they haven’t had proper practice facilities. It's demoralizing.

I feel that a field is needed because there are many times that baseball could of been played but there were no fields to play at so practice was cancelled.

This is long overdue.

We need to kickstart the next step in helping develop kids who could be future Os stars! Let's get behind the petition to wake up those necessary to get the job done for a 90' baseball diamond.

I heartily agree with the need for the new diamond, but only if there is adequate parking to handle the additional activity at the school.

We have been suffering for way too long in the Hereford zone with only one 90ft diamond. There are many teams trying to use the HS field at one time, and the HS teams rightfully get priority. The problem is that the youth programs that support the HS teams don't get the practice and playing time they need to compete and prepare our boys properly. Consequently, much of our talent seeks other programs where they don't have to fight to get practice and playing time. My 16U team last year had to play ALL away games. Our home field was Fallston HS, which is ridiculous. The year before, our home field was in Hampstead Municipal Park, again absurd. People don't know how hard it is to recruit Hereford boys to play and not be able to have a real home field. We desperately need another 90ft diamond in the Hereford Zone.

This new field is crucial so the young people in our area have a place to learn the skills associated with being a part of a team.

Sports and the necessary facilities to support our programs and the young people that participate is a vital part of the entire educational experience.

Maybe if we had better baseball fields when my boys were younger they wouldn't have switched to lacrosse. With 4 children it was too difficult to have to drive a long distance to participate in a decent baseball program.

Let's get this done. Hereford will never be able to build a truly competitive program without a 90' diamond for our children to practice and play on.
